So, I'm in a 12 team money league. 4 team playoff weeks 15 and 16. I'm the #1 seed. The commish was out of town and got one of the other league members to input the playoff matchups last week. Based on this guy's error the seeding process got screwed up and I ended up playing the #3 seed instead of the #4 seed.

So the #3 seed is red-hot and beat me but I scored more points than the #4 seed and therefore should have won my game. Do I have a valid complaint or is it too late b/c I didn't speak up earlier?

Are you friends with these guys?

If you were the one seed you should have played the 4.

Why didnt you mention it before?

It's a work league. I should have mentioned it before but didn't. So I kinda don't feel like it's right to go back and make a big deal about it now.

very similar thing happened in our league

I was the #3 seed and upset the #1 seed who should've been playing the #5 seed. So far the #1 seed is taking his beating like a man.

So you saw that you were playing the 'red hot' 3 seed and said nothing? Once these games began(last Thurs) i would say too late to rearrange. Sounds like your apathy could've cost ya.

Sounds like you wanted to see who you would beat first, and now that you see you would beat No. 4 you're going to bitch.

If the rules laid out at the beginning of the season state that the 1 seed plays the 4 seed, you have an indisputable argument, as the rules would override anything else. Those are the rules everyone agreed to compete by.

If the rules do not actually state how the playoffs will be scheduled, you have no real argument. If that's the case, you should lobby for that to be added to the rules going forward.

If money is involved, speak up now.

The other three teams should understand.

I say you have a valid complaint. It's fantasy football- you have no control over anything that happens and thus the matchup is the only thing that gets you a W or L. Granted, you should have said something beforehand though.

I advanced to the finals by beating the #1 overall seed yesterday- he scored the lowest amount of points out of everyone in our league (including the teams not in the playoffs). I scored the 2nd lowest.

Seeding is everything.

Your question made me think of when LT didn't get back between the numbers in the Bengals game yesterday. No one said anything at the time, so it is now too late. If your situation arose in the NFL (I know it's highly unlikely), what do you think would happen? You'd be screwed if you didn't speak up beforehand.

You'll know next time.
