We often forget

We too often forget that these "men" on the football field are still just kids. Reading the article on the home page about Peterson being the Disney tourguide reminded me of that. Sometimes we just need to sit back, forget about all the bitching and whining for a bit, and remember that these kids are out there giving there all for our entertainment / enjoyment. Heres to not only a successful bowl game for the tigers, but also to them enjoying the experience and getting all they can out of it!

When I was 18 I moved out of the house and fully relied on myself to get things done. There are thousands of MEN the same age fighting to protect our freedom. They are certainly NOT kids but rather young adults you speak of.

Just because you are 18 and serving in the military doesnt mean you are a man. I served at 18 myself. The whole point is, these young men as you put it are out there giving their all ultimately for our enjoyment. I hope they all get every bit of enjoyment out of it that they should.

Did you have an entire city/state following your every move, talking about you, showering you with accolades, and/or ready to pounce for every mistake you made when you did that?

ya, unless you are some celebrity bad arse army ranger or something, i don't think it is comparable for the point of this post.

They are not "kids" they are grown men, many of them big enough to crush most of us with one blow.
They may be kids at heart in some degree, but I hate it when recruitSNOBS and others keep calling these college football players, "KIDS". If anyone had called me a kid when I was 20 years old while in college I would have laughed in their face.

No you dont have to be in the military. If you are 18 YOU ARE IN FACT A MAN.. You are not a kid any more. Its very simple.. There are many 30 year olds that act like kids. Hell I know a few 40 year olds too that still act like they are in HS. But you simply cannot label football players under extreme exposure as kids. If anything they grow up faster than any other person right out of high school. If any give them at least that respect and refer to them as young adults NOT kids which is very disrespectful.

Can nobody on this freakin site take something positive and run with....hell no. You try to wish the guys good luck and give them a little glimmer of hope and enjoyment and you assholes have to rip it apart and turn it negative. Good luck guys on the field and a huge F@CK YOU to the retards on this board!

Dont be an arse. I think he was just trying to say that instead of ripping on these guys for winning 9 games and getting a Capitol One bowl bid, show a little more respect and congratulate them. And they are very young men. Some of them where still in high school at the begining of this year.

If anybody that thinks an 18 year old is a man is obviously a person who is a kid himself.
While true legally an adult at 18 rarely if ever is an 18 year old the same person he or she will be at 27 or 35.
Make no mistake having the body of a man does not make you one.

I've seen 14-15 year olds that fit this description. Does this mean they are grown men as well? Depending on how they were raised, not every 18 year old is 18 from a maturation standpoint (mentally speaking).

I have two sons, 25 and 22, that while technically men, are more boy than man. They are growing into fine young men, just as most of these tigers are as well. There is still an enthusiasm and wonder at new experiences as well as hurt and sadness at mean spirited actions. Lay off and let the tigers enjoy a well earned fun-filled experience while we get to enjoy them kicking some Penn State Nittany (sp?) Lion arse!
ETA: Sorry MoreOrLes, I wasn't responding to you, just agreeing and continuing your thought.
