Assuming Saints win SB this year, (big assumption). How long can they sustain this success? I do not mean going undefeated. I mean are the Saints a team capable of going to multiple SB's ala Patriots, Cowboys, 49ers. Can we maintain a level of success for years to come and perhaps dominate most of the upcoming decade, or fade away eventually?

Saints have many many key FA's at the end of this year, and what if we do win the Super Bowl? How many players will say they got their ring now its time to get their money, and leave for the bigger contracts.

well, they are set up for a nice run looking at the NFC.

the other 2 top teams in the minds of most are MIN and ARI....and Favre and Warner are old as dirt.

I have to think that with SP and Brees running this offense, the Saints are going to be a force for at least a few more years.

Absolutely. This regime has done a fantastic job of finding cheap talent in the later rounds and through free agency. The only thing I see as a potential issue is how much money Brees will want in a few years. He can write his own check but taking as much as we'll pay him will limit the talent we can surround him with.

The reason i ask is because it seems we are older and set up in certain positions to win now. I am wondering with this nucleus whether or not we can replace some older vets down the line and keep churning wins and possible SB victories. Or is it now or never.

We will be very good for the foreseeable future. In order to become the next perenial champion we need more stud D and O lineman plus linebackers.

i think we can be a new dynasty. we have a great front office and they have done very well finding talent. and keep in mind that payton is regarded as one of the most, if not the most, player friendly head coach and that will help us with signing free agents. we have a QB that is in his prime and has plenty of years ahead of him. you couldnt ask for much more.

As long as things stay the same with the way we are running things, i think the next few years will be just as amazing as this. Not to say we won't lose games, but we will steadily win the South and head to playoffs. Would be nice, non?
