Does anyone else think this movie looks like crap?

The CGI looks like a cartoon, and that's pretty much all they're selling the movie on. None of the commercials show anything about the plot...they just show these reptile looking things jumping around and blowing up machines and shite.

I hope this movie tanks at the box office.

I don't like the trailer but reviews have been overwhelmingly positive to this point.

But given the massive cost of the film, I would not be surprised if some of the critics were greased a bit with some especially nice junkets or outright bribes.

Having said that, the reviews do look promising.

the trailer looked average, but the critics who have seen the entire film are giving it very positive reviews.

I'm excited to see it

goddammit

Did we really need this thread again?

Everytime I see the trailer, the CGI looks better to me.

And do you really want them to reveal the entire plot in the trailer?

I'm sorry. I don't frequent this board.

The "entire plot"? Are you serious?

Had you not read anything about the movie's plot, you wouldn't know ANYTHING about it from the commercials.

I know, because I haven't, and I don't.

I thought it looked ABSOLUTELY STUPID!

Then I watched the HBO: Making of.

I can't wait.

Not showing anything about the plot isn't necessarily a bad thing. Do you really want to know every plot point before going into the film?

And yes, you aren't the only one since this is the cool film to diss on these boards.

I just can't get past the blue people with big cartoon eyes. I'll wait to hear from others before I decide to see it or not.

It seems that everyone is forgetting that the selling point of the movie is not just the CGI, but the 3D experience. The trailers look like crap on our TV's and computer monitors, but there have been rave reviews about the 3D experience in theater. James Cameron didn't spend all of that money on some cartoon.

I have my reservations as well, but I'm excited to see it in 3D. People are saying Cameron's method will "change the way movies are made", so I'll at least check it out. There are worse ways to spend a few hours.

I hope it's good because movies have SUCKED (for the most part) the past few months.

To me that is a big con to a movie if you have to watch it in 3D in a movie theater to get the "full experience".

With that said, James Cameron knows action so it should be a good action flick. For those talking Oscar for this movie though, they need to STFU.

Yeah I meant those talking Best Picture. I think visual effects is definitely in the bag.

Nope. But I can tell what should and shouldn't be "considered" for Best Picture Oscar from a preview. This is an ACTION movie with "stunning visuals". At the time so was T2 that Cameron did.
