Catholic QB Zach Oliver?

I watched a couple Catholic games this year and this guy has a cannon, not to mobile but I believe he will be a solid 4 star. He set every single season Catholic passing record as a junior. Remember they have had some talented qbs in the past like Jesse Daigle, Warrick Dunn, Major Applewhite, Scott Pendarvis, Ryan Lewis. Anyway I know LSU has expressed some interest as FSU, Texas AM but no offers yet. Any one seen him play or have any more info on him...what u think LSU material?

That was my time at Catholic. Had some great teams. Remember Scott Ray? Great WR Jesse threw too.

I don't think he will end up at LSU, some of the family is stearing him out of state.

LSU is definitely an option from what I hear

If LSU shows interest, and I think they will, then he will be a Tiger.
My aunt and uncle know the family somewhat well. Zach and his dad have gone to most LSU games over the past 10 years. On every pass play LSU runs, his dad would tell him all the right and wrong things that happened, mostly pertaining to the QB. He would be pretty much coaching him while they were watching the game, pretty much training him to be a college QB.

Then I hope his dad knows more than all the f'in tards that sit in my section and do the same thing.

I only saw one of his games, which was at WM...the kid looks legit. His WRs were terrible however...felt kinda bad for Oliver.

His Dad must be a nut bag if he really does that in the middle of an LSU game in the stadium.

If Burch wasn't LSU material, I don't see how Oliver is honestly. They are almost carbon copies except Burch is faster and has a stronger arm.

Wouldn't call his dad crazy, it's just that the kid was being coached up since birth to play QB.
Ever heard rivals or scout describe a player as a "student of the game"? (You get that occasionally when the describe white players.) Well, this kid is "the student of the game".

My cousin.

Oliver will get a strong look. Thats all that can be said at this point.
He has some serious talent, but is solely a pocket style QB. He has got a cannon, but has no wheels.

i saw this kid play against central this year. impressive size and arm thats about it. if i remember right he threw 4 picks. 2 being pick six. he is the most talented player at catholic. doesnt make him LSU material though.

you remember wrong because he only threw like 3 all year

This is false. I expect to see Oliver to be a 5.8 4 star and potentially push to be a member of the Rivals 250.

My roommate coaches at Catholic and he said any school that doesn't give him full consideration is completely wack. He said he works very hard and has some of the best precision long passes he has seen. My buddy is a film guru too, so that tells me he has some talent.

Sounds like his Dad thinks he is Archie Manning?

In what area is he better than Burch? I watched both play 2 games. 1 against West Monroe, 1 against another opponent. Burch against Franklinton, Oliver against Comeaux. Their frames are identical except Burch is faster and has a much stronger arm. He went to LSU camp in the summer so the knee injury shouldn't be an excuse on LSU passing on him. He's going to La Tech. So why is Oliver such a lock to be a 4 star/SEC caliber QB?

Oliver has a better arm (at the worst their arms are equal), much better mechanics, and more accuracy with the ball. He has made vast improvements between his sophomore and junior year and still has one more season to mature and develop. He has physically developed so much between his sophomore and junior year that watching his sophomore film is like watching a completely different QB.
He is also a solid 6'3 and probably pushing 6'4. He is noticeably taller than most other players on the field.
The only area I see Burch better is in his feet and he is a ways better in that category. Oliver is just plain slow.

I think we are going to just agree to disagree here.
