So where is everyone who said no one would come coach under Miles because he is a lame duck coach?

I am actually impressed so far at the staff he has been able to put together. Here is to him filling out the rest of the staff with more good hires.

I really don't blame people for wanting to work for him. He's probably not too demanding and very personable. His drawback has been his performance.

BUT, he has great recruits for these guys to work with. They may like that. They may also like his flexibility.

Why are you such a dick?

The OP was specifically asking about those that said 'No one will come work for Miles because he is a lame duck'

He said nothing of those that WANTED Miles to make changes.

GFY

I know folks are down on Miles as a coach, but he seems to be a heck of a good guy and nice person...I know LSU pays a lot to assistants, but there still must be a level of respect towards Miles for these good coaches to consider him. Or is it just the money? For BG to leave Urbane Meyer, you'd think there would have to be more to it than coin

This has little to do with his actual coaching ability

I'm anti-Lea but you can't bash him in this regard, he's done a great job thus far

I've always thought coordinator and assistants have a much bigger impact in college than the NFL, so hopefully these stud assistants can cancel out Les' shortcomings

I don't know who that was meant for, but I am actually a Miles supporter. But my point was its funny how these bashers have disappeared after bashing Miles, and saying no one will want to come work for him. Miles seems to do good in hiring coaches to tweak his staff when necessary.

I don't really mean to do that. But it drives me crazy when a poster says "A". and a reply is busting him for "B"

His performance (aside for his catastrophe in Oxford)has been fabulous. Look at his record. Stoops, Carroll, Richt are all good coaches who had a REAL DOWN year. Miles down year was last, came back some this year, and will roll next year.

For the last several years Ranters have been slamming Frank Wilson. Once he comes to LSU he is the greatest. Maybe he wanted to leave Tennessee because of the spoiled brat running that program. That seems to be the thing to do, judging from the rumors that are rampant.
Have you forgotten the euphoria of hiring the wizard?

How do these two hires actually address the poor OL play and the overall mess on offense?

Typical Tiger fans. "Its someone new. All is good now."

What about addressing your true needs?

Les slinging the $$$ that LSU has available to attract coaches says nothing about his own ability to coach and develop players or manage timeouts.

Hes made some bad decisions and some good ones. These last 2 have been good for now.

I think Miles is addressing his needs on offense. When stud is gone a new O line coach will be brought in, and i am still confident that a new O coordinator will be brought in also.

ummm.....just FYI, these are the only two positions OPEN right now. Porter left to be HC (Wilson). McCarthy resigned (Gonzales)

There is no reason to believe this is the LAST moves. Only the ones that are done at this time.

Most believe Stud is going w/ Porter and BP says Crowton (OC) is going.

There is a lot of Dickholery in here.

Not one single person on here has said that with regards to either Wilson or the new receivers coach. If you have proof to the contrary, provide it. The biggest thing that had to be shored up by losing Porter was recruiting. With Wilson, that was fixed and then some. It had been known McCarthy was leaving for some time, so there was obviously a need there. Whether or not we need a O Line coach is debatable (starting almost an entire new line is always a rough transition), but it appears that we'll get someone new there anyway with Stud going to Memphis. Crowton is a mystery, but I think people overall think the offense is, to use your word, a mess, and a new system might be useful. But whatever the case, your stupid, arrogant opinion of what LSU fans are thinking is off base. Go back to sniffing Mt. Cody's jock strap in the meantime.

Oh, and until 3 years ago, didn't most Bama fans think making coaching changes was a good thing? But I forget that now that you have Saban, you can draw a straight line from Bear's death to Saban's success without worrying about those intervening twenty years or so.
