What size pot does everyone prefer when boiling?
60,80,120 qt
Which size do you like to go with and why? I'm thinking about getting some new equipment this year. Whats the best place to go around BR?

I roll with 80, just because its easier for me to store/throw around by myself. I have a 120 that comes out when I really need to get going for a big group.

Goodwood Hardware in BR has some awesome boil accessories.

Not worth the $600, not even close.

I have a 100qt pot for the seafood and a small pot that came with a turkey fry kit that I use for the veggies. Can do two small sacks of crawfish or a whole box of crabs in one shot. Kind of a bitch to store since it is big in diameter. Gotta have a basket buddy no matter what size pot. best damn thing to happen to boiling seafood.

I would take two 60s rather than a 120 anyday. I just find you can control seasoning, temp etc much easier with a smaller pot which produces tastier crawfish.

Know of anywhere I can get a basket buddy in BR? My dad would probably love one of those. Thanks!

I picked mine up at a craft show. They are made in LA and I think even the Rouses super markets down here carry them. I paid $10 for the metal one and they make a plastic version for less than that. I am not sure if the company has a web site or not.

Got mine from Academy, in fact got everybody in my family one for stocking stuffers last year and we swear by them.
I go with a 100 on the pot size, a good 40lb.+ sack and the veggies fit in nice and comfy. Never had much problem with my seasoning, use the same old mix we've used for years now and they always taste the same.

I have a 60, 90, and a 120. Don't get under an 80. It'll handle a sack and fixin's and you'll need that at a minimum.
