I hear Charlie Weiss is high on their list

I can still remember listening to Richard Condon saying in 1999 that Pete Richardson should be interviewed for the LSU job. I guess once an idiot... always one.

Southern is a laughing stock.

from on outsider's perspective seems like that program had become pretty stagnant. He was going to be a lame duck next season anyway

I would rather be in Southern's shoes than Tulane's.
Also as a LSU fan I find it quite hard to call anyone's program a laughing stock right now. Not only do they pay their coach the most in the country, they have the balls to fire his arse when he is underperforming.

Thank you.
Not when the entire nation is laughing at your program for mis-managing the clock and explosive offensive talent all year long.
Over $5M/yr worth of coaching on the sidelines and can't manage a clock.
Kudos to Southern for not giving Pete the opportunity to blame and replace the coordinators. And kudos to Pete for not trying to blame anyone else for what he is responsible for ... the performance of his staff and players.

Coach Pete for years has told me that it was hard to get kids who know how to play ball & stay eligible, beside his wife has wanted to move back to the Carolinas for a while.

As an SU alum, this had to happen now. Our program was going downhill fast (even for the
sorry SWAC).
We were not getting what we paid for.
Finally, someone had the stones make a damn decision.

This should be interesting. Who will LeFluer hire? His last hire at TxSt was a disaster, and they both got fired. Will he get to hire the best applicant, or will he be told from higher ups who it will be.

What is specialty offense or defense?

Lefleur's azz needs to go with Pete!
SU needs to clean house...everyone except Cador and women's BB coach should be sent packing.

Need to keep asst AD Earl Hill as well, coach knows everyone and knows his shite. Pete should have canned Mark Orlando last year.

Like I said, never get rid of a coach unless you have one better.
Quick Greg LaFleur story. When Greg was an asst. to the AD, he would often come in and talk to the new football players. He would talk about how he came from a lower education parish and school. He said it was a big change for him. He said the first time in class the professor ask him about the English Channel. Gregs reply, "Sorry sir, you see we didn't have cable TV in Ville Platte!"
True story.
I hope Greg and Southern picks the right guy. An for sure, Cador is a class act. One of the better Baseball coaches in the state.
