After this huge win, I think he's here for good. There's no way he leaves. Just curious what other people think.

It wouldn't be the first time he went job hunting after a big win.

If you're asking if he will leave this year, then the answer is 'no'. Beyond that--well, look at his track record.

I have seen or heard nothing about Saban leaving. That said, he has a history of looking for a bigger challenge so I would not be the least bit surprised if in a couple of years he looks for something else. I would expect Michigan or Notre Dame.

I think it's more that LSU fans want Saban to leave Alabama.

There's no reason to think he would leave but it has nothing to do with this win.

And the people that claim he jumps jobs are just hurt LSU fans.

MSU to LSU - Better job, good career move
LSU to NFL - Wanted to try the challenge of NFL, didn't work out so he goes back to college and Alabama

Not really nonsensical jumping around.

The only place he's going is to the National Championship

This is true; and I'm an LSU fan. I'm not afraid to be honest.

I'll admit to it.

There's nothing more football related I want than Saban to leave Bama.

Honestly, no one knows. He definitely has a good thing going at Bama and it doesn't look like there is anywhere that could offer what they don't. But, just because we don't see it doesn't mean that Saban doesn't see something that won't make him want to leave.

I will say this. Within 5 years, Saban will be making 10 mill/year somewhere.

He stays at Alabama forever. Why leave -- set for the rest of his career.

+1. It is literally the worst situation possible. Not only is Bama a legitimate power again, but Saban is the reason why. It is infuriating on some many levels and I, like many fans on here, feel like we will be destined for #2 in the West for a long time.

After LSU won the title, Saban never seemed the same. He was looking for another challenge.

Apparently, you don't know Saban very well. As I've stated before, Nick Saban will not stay at Alabama very long. His ego will lead him to bigger challanges.

And you do? How many times have you met him? Do you personally know him or his family?

If he wins the NC, then he may start to feel like he did at LSU in 2004 and get restless. But he's a smart guy, he knows he made a mistake stepping away from a good situation, and he won't do it again.

Unfortunately.

Ego is a hard thing to figure, and even the dumbest, red cool aid drinkingest Tide fans should be able to see Saban has one of the biggest. It's part of what makes him, great, but it also makes him unpredictable. People with a big ego are always looking for a challenge and don't tend to get complacent. That said, I think there are only two moves that are different enough to intrigue him.

First, I wouldn't be shocked if he gave the NFL another shot down the line. Not anytime soon, mind you, but that is the only blemish on an impressive resume. I wonder is he can resist if a better situation pops up. Say, if Belichick retires and leaves a stocked Pats team. That's a little different story than the Dolphins a few years ago.

Second, USC. It's a totally different situation than Alabama and the SEC. Saban could absolutely own the PAC-10 and I'm sure he knows it. There is more media exposure there, and there is a huge recruiting base in the state that a recruiter like him would own instantly. Just look at how ESPN drools over ND and USC when they are good. LA is the biggest TV market in the US and they don't have the NFL. It is a prime time job, and if he gets antsy sitting in the same place for a long time at Bama and Carrol leaves, it is the only college job I could see him taking a leap for.

I'm not saying that Saban definitely ever leaves Alabama, and even if he does, I don't think it will be anytime in the next few years. However don't be stupid and shortsighted enough to believe that Alabama is the best and only job on Earth. Saban had it rolling here and would have gotten anything he wanted, but he was blind/stupid/ego-driven enough to leave for the next big challenge. Don't think he won't ever be tempted again.
