Nothing special to say, just wanted to share a quick anecdote from this morning:
I was n the way to class with my girlfriend crossing Dalrymple at the crosswalk. A nice white car driving at normal speed drove by and sort of cut us off, even though we had the right of way at the cross walk. My girlfriend kind of threw her arms back, surprised, and dropped her stuff, and made a sort of aggravated gesture. The car stopped, went in reverse, and out of the window popped Richard. He stuck his head out and apologized about the whole thing, really polite and courteous. Not a great story but its nice to know that the football program and its players are representing well in little day to day interactions. I've been a part of several NCAA programs at smaller schools, and not even there would guys think to do something like that.
Anyway, not that it's news or anything, but just wanted to thank Richard for being classy to me and my girlfriend on what has been a pretty shitty week.

he had a better chance of getting your thanks at the actual scene of the incident than on TD IMO

Did it. This is more of a props to him on the highest platform available to me, other than like running around the quad with a "I love Dick" sign, which is not as fun as it sounds.

This thread will probably live for days, when it should die quickly.

Thanks for sharing your story. I'm only guessing, but I'd like to believe that Murphy's response was in part reflective of a program that developes character. Either way, acts like his make lasting impressions.

Yep. I feel for the guy. Lost both of his parents at an early age and lost his mother to cancer. I still have my dad and much older than him, but lost my Mom to cancer, so I can imagine what he went thru. I hope the guy bursts on the scene next year and get drafted. He sure deserves some good luck come his way.

I had a 2 a.m. heart to heart with him outside of Bogies one night.
Great guy. He goes home most weekends to see his grandparents and childrens.
Then again, most football players are really fun gregarious people to hang out with. The one exception from my experience was Jamarcus - who asked a pretty girl for $75 to sign a napkin, right before the draft. And was serious.
