I am sure most of you have love ones no longer here to see these Saints play. I wish my mom, dad, aunt and uncle were alive to see this. They were such die hard Saints fans and like most of us suffered through all those years of disappointment and still loved there Saints.

Sound off if you got them.

When I was growing up every Sunday I was sitting next to my Grandpa watching the Saints. He died in 1994 I bet he is flipping in his grave right now.

I told this to my Grandma just last weekend...:)

I'm thinking of my father-in-law and his good friend, Fred Williams.

Absolutely. Will Bobby wear the dress? My father would have really enjoyed this as well. To the OP, thanks for the post.

Unusual situation with me. My father-in-law is in a nursing home, and we visit him a lot. Sometimes he is lucid and sometimes his memory and awareness of the present is not so great. I asked him if he was keeping up with Saints, and he and he thought a minute and said "Yeah, I think this guy can coach".

I hope he can hang in there if, uh, until the Saints do make the SB. It'll be great.

I would like to take this time to hope for the best to Chad's daughter in life. It will be rough having such a "great" dad like him.

Anyway, great thread. This Saints team could be one for the ages and I wish all those that came and left before us could see.

My dad never ever gave up on them, he died in 87, I remember my dad letting us be late for mass only once, to watch Tom Dempsey kick the 63 yarder, he loved him some Saints

Yes my uncle passed in January. I told my Mom last night how I wished so much he was here to see how well his beloved Saints are doing.

My mother loved the Saints. She passed away at home from lung cancer literally not seconds after we beat the hell out of Carolina at their house two years ago. The tv was on the whole time, so I know she went with a smile on her face. I almost feels as if she is looking down on all of this and saying to herself, "Our guys are doing so well, I'm so proud of them".

My Grandmother I remember watching the playoff loss to the Eagles in 93 at her place in Metairie if only she could see what the Saints have become today.

I've been thinking about my Papaw a lot this season. He died in 1991. As a kid, I used to watch Saints games with him and my Dad every Sunday. He loved the Saints and would be loving this as well.

Yeah, for those of us that are life-long Saints fans, we all have lots of family that never got to see what we are seeing. We should be grateful and remember them as well.

Great thread.

My mom and I were both saying last night, that we wished my dad could see this season. He suffered through the bad years, and never gave up.
