"How many times do I have to say it? I will not be the next head coach at Notre Dame. ". I can hear it now!

Bob Stoops said he would be back at Oklahoma next year. If he goes to Notre Dame, then he lied. Does a Catholic school with high standards want a liar as a head coach?

I know ND wants the sexy big name, but honestly they aren't going to lure a big name coach away from a big BCS school.

I think they can get Saban, and for less than $6m/year (but not much less). They will be locked in with him for 5 or 6 years, but they might be able to get a buyout from him if they get in the $6.25 to $6.5m a year, with incentives possibly pushing him higher than $7m.

Notre Dame's deep pockets could definitely lure Saban or anyone else for that matter away from a current coaching situation. I wonder if Bama fans are tracking flights in and out of Birmingham and Tuscaloosa yet.

The landscape of college football has changed since Notre Dame was the big dog. Players are trying to get into the NFL as quick as possible, and not really all that interested in academics.

this...you used to go to Notre Dame to be on national TV every week and increase your potential NFL exposure...now, if you want to do that, you go to UF, UT, USC, tOSU, LSU, etc.
