Yet in year 5 he had no capable back up.
in 2005 miles was our coach
and we did have a capable QB and backup
But they didn't have IQs of 161 like you!
You are pathetic.

what conference did we win in 2005?
what BCS bowl did we go to?
Number 1: Saban's players.
Number 2: We got 10 wins and crushed a heavily favored Miami team in the Peach Bowl.
Better than all but 2 of Saban's years.
Good try though.

After playing for 10 straight weeks amid the repercussions of Katrina. The fact that we were even playing in that game is a huge credit to MIles.
I don't know anyone that can claim 2005 as a down year when public opinion is that it was by far Miles' best coaching performance of his tenure.

not in terms of recruiting
Why's that? Miles had 13 schollys and a few weeks to recruit pre '05 and switched the #1 hs QB to LSU.

and those 2 years are still better than anything miles has done, who has yet to win the conference a 2nd time in his 5 years
saban won the SEC twice while he was building LSU

I will give you 1k if you can prove you have an IQ of 161. I will pay for the test!

aka
les miles relied too much on joe addai and he wore down
and
les lobbied for the fricking cotton bowl the day before the SEC title game (he was pretty confident that we'd lose) also. i'm sure his lack of focus had nothing to do with it

and people use that class as an excuse for this year

As for as QB's Saban didn't want RP's thug arse and Colt McCoy was coming here until Miles took RP instead. Great choice CLM.

Let's see, 2 BCS victories to two BCS victories. Check. One title (contested) to one title (outright).
You fail at this. You are not a fan, you just like to argue.

Lack of focus doesn't get a team 10 wins when the players are worried about their families having a place to live.

I don't want to hear that shite, Saban took Tim motherfricking Pope. Don't even try that.

Because human nature dictates that people have short-term memories and won't remember when LSU played Alabama, but will rely solely on the fact that Alabama is in the SEC Championship and LSU is not
So, based upon your reasoning, there's no way to objectively determine who is the better coach. Brilliant! Human nature will not allow us to make a real determination. Everything is all opinion with you, huh? There is no right or wrong in the world. Only circumstances clouded by our short-term memories.

the best talent in the conference (thanks nick saban) was the major factor in those 10 wins

McCoy was never going anywhere but Texas.
Damn flute players.
He grew up an avid Horn fan. Ask anybody in Texas.

Based on my reasoning, a sample of random individuals on a NCAA-wide message board only watched that game for the final score and couldn't say one way or the other who was the more effective coach in that game, but will assume it was Saban because he won the game.
My assumption is that generally, people are idiots who look for an obvious answer despite the fact that it's probably the wrong one.
