I saw him in the bank a couple of summers ago. He was wearing shorts, and he has L S U tattooed on his leg.

Yeah I like how he plays with an attitude. I wonder if he would get into coaching O-line when he retires?

I always make an effort to watch if his team is available. This guy is a warrior. Did you see when he literally threw #54 a couple of yards on a run play?

he took a cheap shot elbow from one of the texans on 1 play. the d lineman was flagged for a 15 yd penalty. mawae was on his hands and knees and the guy was on top and came down with a elbow to mawaes side.. I'm sure a fine will be in place by the NFL .

In his 17th. year, want to guess how many other OL in the NFL have 17 or more years?

Yeah, all Mawae did was go back to the huddle, line up, and punish his target on the next play. Full time badass.

did he play under archer or hallman?

Saw a poll on cnnsi.com (I think) the other day. They asked NFL players who the dirtiest player in the game was. Mawae was pretty high up there.

Hes retired, you are talking Jason right? No other OL in the Pros has in 17 years, right now.

Didn't see that poll. I can only say that he is the head of the NFL Player's Association, so I take that as a sign that he has the respect and trust of his peers.

Todds a great guy. He played football, baseball and basketball at Central. During training camp of his rookie season he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and missed the entire season. During his second season he took over as the Falcons starting center.

My father is a gym teacher at the school his child attends (I think he has a girl). As a Titans fan, my dad recognized him and talked a little football. The LSU tatt is correct as well.
Dad said he was a great guy, said he loves LSU, and he also loves living in Middle TN.

I went to high school with Kevin and am occasionally in contact with him. I'll ask him what his plans are post career. I asked him recently if he had retirement in mind soon and he said he still wants to keep playing.

He is proof that during a crappy coaching era that true champions can rise above. Mawae, Faneca, and Andolsek are my top three O Linemen - I was on the field for a game when Andolsek was a Senior and I was being recruited by LSU - guy was amazing and so jacked up running out of the tunnel it made me tee tee just a little bit. I am three totties in to my pre Spanksgiving routine - love the rant and I love all the O-Lineman out there!
