Why not Bo Pelini anyone? We need someone who is a little more disciplined and organized.

Anyone that says no needs to reevaluate their decision making criteria.

Davis is a damn good recruiter and a solid coach. He has turned a UNC program that went 5-7 or 4-8 consistently into a program that is winning 8 or 9 games a year now--and they aren't even done improving. They are a top 15 team next year and have big time talent coming into the program with each successive recruiting class.

What Davis did with Miami was create arguably one of the greatest dynasties ever in college football. Remember the streak of first rounders coming out of Miami? Started by him. He took that program to the very, very top. Coker was able to win the next 4 years on the talent and program Davis had created. Sound similar to a situation we face?

He is elite and we should all be wanting him as our coach.

The only real negative: He is a little crooked; he doesn't have too much issue with underhand deals...but then again, it is part of the game now.

I say Tommy Tuberville. I know that there is some bad blood there with a lot of Tiger fans, but a seasoned SEC coach may be just what we need instead of a mid major phenom, or Big10(conservative)/Big12(offensive minded) coach.

Butch being 58 is the only drawback.....he is arguably the best recruiter ever.

The Hurricanes earned recognition from the American Football Coaches Association for outstanding graduation rates in each of his six seasons at Miami[1]. The following players were coached or recruited by Davis in his stint at Miami: Ray Lewis (LB), Yatil Green (WR), Kenard Lang (DE), Kenny Holmes (DE), Duane Starks (CB), Edgerrin James (RB), Bubba Franks (TE), Dan Morgan (LB), Damione Lewis (DT), Santana Moss (WR), Reggie Wayne (WR), Bryant McKinnie (OT), Jeremy Shockey (TE), Phillip Buchanon (CB), Ed Reed (S), Mike Rumph (CB), Andre Johnson (WR), Jerome McDougle (DE), Willis McGahee (RB), William Joseph (DT), Sean Taylor (S), Kellen Winslow II (TE), Jonathan Vilma (LB), D.J. Williams (LB), Vernon Carey (OT), Clinton Portis (RB) Vince Wilfork (DT), Antrel Rolle (CB), and Kelly Jennings (CB)[2]. Moreover, Davis' smaller-than-usual recruiting classes are widely considered to have laid the foundation for Miami's undefeated national championship team of 2001

Nick Saban is 58 and most LSU fans seem to want him back.

When you look at coaches, you have to see if that coach is a guy that has won anywhere he has been at or has built or sustained a successful program.
Thats why, Butch Davis, Brian Kelly, or Jim Harbaugh would all be great hires. I would choose Davis because he can recruit and has run a top notch program.

From The Bleacher Report and there are many others such as the Dallas Morning news......perhaps its you who are both dumb and blind.

None of that changes the reality that Stoops is one of the three or four most successful coaches of the past decade. He also took a program that spent a decade lost in the wilderness back to the upper echelon of college football.

In that light, it's easy to see why Stoops would make an attractive candidate for the not-yet-vacant Notre Dame gig.

And it's just as easy to see why Stoops may be ready to move on.

at this point in his career I don't think Butch wants to coach in a pressure cooker environment of an SEC school. Hell just last season he turned down arkansas

oh, i forgot. everyone gets the benefit of the doubt around here except for Miles.

The whiny bitches on here say Miles is a fraud because he won a NC in year three with sabans players, but hasnt won anything that matters since.

Stoops won a title in his second year with players John Blake recruited. That was 9 years ago, and he hasn't won anything important since.

In fact he’s lost 5 of his last 6 bowl games. The only win was a 17-14 win over Oregon in the holiday bowl in 2005.

In 2007 he had Adrian Peterson as a junior and couldn't beat Boise State

In 2008 OU was number 3 in the AP and Coaches poll, but lost 48-28 to West Virginia with an interim head coach.

He’s lost 3 BCS NC games, including the worst BCS NC game loss ever, 55-19 to USC

And of course Miles beat Stoops twice.

In 2001, Oklahoma State was 3-7. Stoops and OU were 11-1. Stoops lost.

In 2002, Oklahoma State was 6-5. Stoops and OU were 11-1. Stoops lost.

So please explain to me why Stoops gets respect around here but Miles is some kind of fraud who is destroying LSU

I don't think MstrShaker is suggesting that Stoops is not willing to look at some jobs that might open, like Notre Dame perhaps. What I think he is saying is that there is just about no way in hell that Stoops will ever come to LSU specifically. There isn't any upside to him coming here. Not sure what his pay is, but at best this would be considered a parallel move, and that is a stretch depending on who you ask (not to start that argument). Do you think he would go from an elite job in one of the elite conferences where he has consistently dominated to a job which is showing signs of negative momentum and the fanbase is absolutely intolerant? The only thing that might tempt him is that I don't think he likes Miles and might be happy to come here and do better to rub it in Miles' face. Realistically, it just isn't going to happen.

I hope Miles gets it together and we don't have to hear this sh*t every week, but if we do end up replacing Miles, which would be after next year at the soonest, forget Stoops. Some of the other names, maybe.
