You Say:

Les, you are fired.

I realize we have a buyout. Here's a 3 million check and a termination agreement. Sign it, go peacefully, and enjoy the 3 large.

Otherwise, get out w/ no check and take your chances in court.

BTW, if we go to court LSU will enter into evidence all of your bonehead calls over the past 5 years. That will be a long day in court.

could you get a coach under contract before terminating his???

In other words, make sure you have a coach, hire him, before you get rid of miles?

He was a average coach at Okie St., He is a average coach at LSU. He needs to go. Pay a settlement and go get a real coach. Like TCU's staff, or ( cough, cough ) I hate the thought Tubberville. ( He won against Saban as much as Saban beat him, he also beat Bama regularly. There is plenty of good coaches out there available right now. Let the new AD hire his own guy

It has been a few years since I have expressed my personal opinion about Coach Les Miles's head coaching abilities and skills.

My personal opinion is not very relevant.

What I am saying is that, because Coach Miles won the NC in 2007 and has a huge buyout, I believe that he will be the HC of LSU in 2010.

2011 will be a tough year for LSU football. Expect losses to Fla., Bama at least. If Snead stays at Ole Miss, you have to worry about that game, as well as the Arky game.

But, 2010 will be a re-building year, and Coach Miles will get a pass for this.

I don't see LSU making a HC change anytime soon.

I fully understand and appreciate all of your arguments that support making a HC change, but, I simply do not believe that the LSU administration agrees with ya'll.

Coach Miles is the exact same coach today as he was last Friday. He is the exact same coach today as he was in 2005. He's been good enough so far, and, I expect the LSU "powers that be" will judge him to be good enough for 2010 and 2011, at least.

Why am I wrong, Nega-Tigers?

Speak freely. You are among friends.

I don't recall a line of top 10 coaches waiting to interview here and we had great talent and facilities then, too

We werent paying them 4 million a year either...

but I know we're paying $4 million for a coach

see, I think its one of the top 5 jobs in the country and I think those coaches are smart enough to know what has happened...They all know that making that much money something comes with it...Those guys are use to it...Patterson wants this job, im just telling you...Better get him quick...

Isn't Snead a junior this yr; shouldn't be around in 2011.

2010 is NOT a rebuilding year; it should be a fruition year. Tough schedule though.

Most people believe this because of his buyout.(Most people now realize what rational people have been saying for years that Les lucked into that NC)

I'm assuming you mean 2010 and yes

Negative. Les has lost the fanbase and that's not something that is easy to recover from. Add in the fact that the new AD/Chancellor didn't hire him and.....

He's been good enough so far

Not really. His talent has been good enough so far.

So after we lose 4-5, two years in a row we are entering a "rebuilding year"?

WTF?

Well-you fire Les Miles with his record and you probably will have a hard time attracting a good coach because they would probably think we're ffing nuts!!!

Or they will watch any game that Les has coached and go, God that was a fricking idiot I can do better.

What NCAA coach worth a shite is afraid of pressure?

Zook got fired after a 3 loss season, Meyer wasn't afraid

Shula got fired after an ok career, Saban wasn't afraid.

Etc. etc. etc.

Agreed - LSU and the SEC aren't for the faint of heart.

But it's a great opportunity

Zook and Schula didn't win a NC followed by a bowl win during a down year and an 8-3 record with close losses against teams that have a little more experience than us in several key positions.

Technically Coker was fired 5 seasons after his national title, 4 seasons after his last title game trip, for those saying Miami did this.

Les Miles is likely fired 3 seasons after his national title, if he doesn't turn it around next season.

Don't worry, the LSU athletic department is run by adults, not immature college geeks.

LSU needs to covertly put out feelers after this season. Next season isn't going to be pretty. Les will be here unless he resigns, but LSU needs to have some big dawg ready to step into his place once the axe does come.
