So, a friend is cooking dinner tomorrow night. I asked if i could bring any beverages... and, he would like wheat beer. Im not huge on wheat beer and was unsure what to pick up? Any recommendations?

I like the sierra nevada wheat, it might be seasonal though. I'm not sure but I think most wheat beers are summer seasonal.

I'd recommend a German hefeweizen like Paulaner or Franziskaner over a domestic wheat beer. Both are easy to find.

Yes, Albertson's should carry these. If not, Matherne's or Calandro's certainly do.

Pyramid Amber Weizen is pretty good for a wheat.

You guys kill me.Leave the damn beer alone. More grain for your colon I guess? Top that with a lime so it will go down easier. Go to the bakery if you want grain, go to the produce dept if you want fruit. Go to a real bar for beer.

You do know all beer is made from grain right? To make wheat beer you just use wheat as opposed to another grain.
ETA- I would get a few different hefeweizens. I think the Franziskaner bombers at WHole Foods for like $2.50 a bottle is a great deal.

I find that you drink less beer when you switch between a few so if your goal was to get him drunk then go with the strong brews. If not you are just throwing your money out the door on alcohol.

Boulevard, a brewery out of KC makes a tasty wheat beer, but I'm sure there's others that completely disagree.
