listened to the game last night while at the pmac .. ricky blanton is doing a fricking helluva a job on color .. it's time someone took kevin ford's mike away from him during the game .. send him back across the street and l'auberge du lac the halftime show ... 3 people are waaaaay too many on a basketball radio broadcast .. especially when one of them trying to do color got cut from his biddy team when he was 6 ..

Im not sold on Blanton. A lot of the stuff he says is like "duh" things such as LSU needs to score points to stay in this one etc

If we get rid of Kevin Ford, who will tell us which team in on a 9-0 run, or that it is now a 5 possession game? Ford is not good.

i disagree .. he gives some really good insight .. let's face it .. 95% of all color commentators say things that you can classify as "duh" things ... what separates person A from person B is their credibility .. who's more credible ? blanton or ford ?

so i take it you would rather ford talking over hawthorne during game action with who is on what run and how many timeouts someone has in the first half ?? ford fricking corrects hawthorne on the air with shite he needs to just jot down on a piece of paper and hand to jim ..

Did anyone hear Hawthorne's misuse of the word "penultimate" last night? I'm not bashing him, just thought it was really comical.

Ricky does a damn good (not great) job providing color. He calls the game not like a fan, which was/is Ford's problem, as well as Hawthorne. Don't mind some enthusiasm, but a little less opinion on why we "suck" at times is more than welcomed.

I thought Blanton was terrific. He actually gave some insight into what was going on rather than just repeating meaningless stats.

I like Kevin Ford, but I don't like the dynamic he and Hawthorne have. Hawthorne has always been rude and disrepectful to Ford on the radio. The way Hawthorne calls the action is good.
Hawthorne calls Blanton "Rick". That just isn't right. I heard Blanton's first game and this last one, and he has already made a world of improvement.

Ford does a pretty good job as the football studio host. But he just isn't very good at basketball. He and Hawthorne argue too much about petty things.

people saying he was terrible have to either be joking, flaming, or those that would make negatigers look like mr. rogers ..
