I have been a Miles supporter throughout his tenure at LSU. However, I cannot gloss over or make excuses for LSU's performance against Louisiana Tech. Despite the victory, it was obvious that LSU was very unprepared and unmotivated to play. And, in my opinion, there is no excuse for that type of performance against an inferior opponent, especially when the head coach is getting paid approximately $4 million per year.

The losses to UF and Bama, I think, are mostly acceptable, considering UF and Bama are generally regarded as the best two teams in the country. However, Ole Miss is an opponent not as good as UF and Bama, and an opponent LSU must beat to remain as a viable top ten program. Because of this, I think the outcome of this weekend's game against Ole Miss, in many respects, is more important to the future of Les Miles and the LSU football program than the UF and Bama games. My fear is that if LSU loses to Ole Miss, then LSU will lose to Arkansas, which will mark two straight late season swoons. One year could be an aberration, two years marks a trend.

This thread is not intended as a flame, but a genuine concern for LSU remaining a top ten program. What say you?

No effect on Miles security, but could have a large effect on how our recruiting class finishes.

More hate on our coaching staff reduces the success of or recruiting program.

Why is this not clear to more people that bitching aboutthe coaching staff, especially long before it's warranted, ends up being a self fullfiling prophecy?

A blowout would look really bad; however, if as long as LSU goes at least 10-3 it won't affect LSU.

We are probably a few unfortunate injuries away from controlling our own destiny to the SECCG.

Think 9-3 was what many hope for at the start of the season.

I thought UGA, no wait, UF, no wait, Auburn, no wait, Bama, was the most impt game regarding the future of LSU. Why don't ya'll make up your minds on which game determines the fate of the program as a whole.

man what has happened to the LSU tigers i thought i knew...settling for just one out of two against Ole Miss and Arky....

this is quite sad...

I have been a lifelong Gator fan and even in the years of Zook we expected to win every game. Once you start settling for less thats where your program goes. LSU needs to get some pride and not accept another loss...

Reluctantly admitted, this is true.

People have said that every game this season will determine the future fate of the LSU program.

Seriously.

LSU has the defense to win BOTH. Put pressure on Snead & Mallett and they will fold. A template has already been set on how to stop both offenses, pressure.

9-3 with the schedule LSU has is not horrible. not to mention the question marks the team as a whole had coming into the season. the defense is very much improved and will get better. hell the defense has a chance to be very good next year. also, our offense is going to have an experienced qb and some good wr's next year. florida has went 9-4 and 9-3 under urban meyer so it's not like he hasn't had his "problems" while at florida. i think you guy's will be a 3 loss team next year as well.

It's very true that both of those QB's are seemingly easily rattled. Unfortunately our DL doesn't get any pressure on opposing QB's. Mallet can eaither look brilliant or absolutely horrid depending on the pressure he gets (or even just anticipates). Snead can be either a pretty good QB, or putrid based on the same.

I think the reason everyone said 9-3 was acceptable early this year is because we thought Ole Miss was actually a good team. they are not at all what they were cracked up to be. Our expectations elvolve as the season goes. Therefore anything less than 10-2 is a disappointment in my eyes. Having said that, I'm scared that 9-3 is going to be the final record. Win or lose I will still be watching every minute.
