Pressure of the perfect season...

Was talking with a buddy the other day. We were talking about the real possibility of the saints being perfect this season and the pressure it can put on a team. He thought it would be best for the saints if they lost the 16th game. This would take the pressure off the team going into the playoffs, and be a reminder that they are beatable and hopefully motivate them to play even harder when you can't afford to slip up. Obviously we still have 7 more to win before we get to that point, but...
thoughts?
thoughts?

That's stupid. Any team that is 16-0 doesn't lack motivation.

Post-season is lose and go home. How does having one loss reduce the pressure?

losing is never a good thing
drew's pregame chant doesn't have anything about "win again again again .. and then lose"

I don;t think they really feel any pressure for getting the prefect season. I think right now, being the New Orleans saints, seeing our history. We're happy with continuously winning. We want to make the play offs and we want to have home field advantages. That's there only goal, trying to get the perfect season is for teams who have BEEN to the Superbowl already.
Like NE, what could top their dynasty record? Why getting the perfect season. Indy want the same thing, they been to a SB before, new orleans sorry to say just WANT to get to the superbowl. We'll worry about winning it when we get there but priority right now is getting to the superbowl.

Exactly!
If the Saints win the next 2 and the Falcons, somehow, lose one of the next 2, the Saints will have the division wrapped up. At that point, the boys can play with a lot of pressure off their shoulders.
Brees is a different sort of guy, he wants to win at everything and, most importantly, he's willing to do what takes to win.
To quote Lombardi: "The Dictionary is the only place where success comes before work. Hard work is the price we must pay for success. I think you can accomplish anything, if you're willing to pay the price."
Brees is "willing to pay the price".

Isn't 40 years of losing enough? I say no more! No more losing ever!

They just need to play every game and learn that way. Losing isn't going to teach them much-and I think we got the idea of "were beatable" down when we were down 24-3 in Miami. And then Payton was like, "Kay guys you learned now lets go win." Or something. But what matters to this team, and frankly any team, is a Superbowl, first things first, beat the Rams.

How did being perfect work for the Patriots??
When they have division and home field locked up they shouldn't have Brees even travel with the team for fear he may get airsick
They should be resting the big time guys and linemen. Banged up linemen is what cost the Patriots in the Superbowl.
