All I'm saying is just say you like the new unis without making up crap like they help in recruiting.
I think his point was that LSU, being one of only about 10 teams to get this new uni, gets additional exposure which helps recruiting. I think its a stretch too, but whatever. I just wish they had done a better job with the uni.

I like the idea of LSU wearing the Nike uniform for one game. But the traditional LSU uniform is classic. Why is it classic? Because when you flip on the TV and see the LSU gold helmet, white jersey and gold pants, even the casual college football observer knows LSU is playing. There is identification of that uniform with LSU. Same goes for Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama, USC, etc.
I just do not see how wearing a different uniform as regularly as Oregon helps recruiting. I, for one, always have to do a double take when initially watching Oregon games or watching Oregon hilights to make sure it is actaully Oregon on the field. Not having a traditional uniform, to me, means not having much of an identity. I, for one, have no desire to model the LSU football program after the Oregon Ducks in terms of changing uniforms regularly.

bama and usc have never changed their uniforms. how is not changing hurting them?

You say it is outrageous, yet you state your own preference!

bama changed helmets in 84 and 85 experimented with white helmets
USC entirely different matter

USC has tweaked their unis several times, and even changed their helmets three times since '92. There all small changes, but changes nonetheless.

I would like to see LSU wear the all white uniform that Tridon is wearing in someone's picture...

The uniforms still look shitty.
First choice, white jerseys and canary pants with canary helments. (what we normally wear)
Second choice, purple jerseys, canary pants, canary helments (which we do once or twice a year).
Third choice, gold jerseys, white pants, white helments (once a year or perhaps a bowl game)

I don't have a problem with these as a promotion type thing. I'm sure the players will enjoy wearing them.

When I flip through the channels, I want to instantly recognize the teams.
When teams like LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, and Tennessee are playing, there's no mistaking them.
It should stay that way.
I don't mean there should be no tweaking. Just don't change the whole look of the uniform until it's unrecognizable.
