this whole uniform stuff... is outrageous...

i mean oregon is one of the top teams in the country and they barely wear the same setup for more than one game at a time.
LSU has not "always" had the same uniforms.. in fact - yellow used to not even be the color.. it was a true gold...
and more importantly.. if a high school can win wearing pink jerseys..
LSU can win wearing WHATEVER nike will have them wear...
the color of helmet, jersey or trouser has never "won" or "lost" a game for a team -
but the good exposure from possibly having LSUs name thrown out when it normally wouldn't be... is good for LSU...
personally I like gold on unis better than yella...

I never did feel comfortable referring to LSU's colors as purple and gold when they are clearly purple and yellow.

I think people need to get out the golden ages and realize that to a certain extent this helps recruiting. I like it and every little bit of help in recruiting is fine with me.

I dunno if it helps recruiting, but regardless I like the idea, just not the execution. The LSU unis suck. Some of the other ones looked good.

Agreed.
Royal Purple and Old Gold on white unis would look better imo.
I'm not one of these "but that's tradition" types, where that's their only comeback. LSU's colors, at least on the FB unis are clearly purple, white, and a bright school bus yellow.

They cannot wear the same combination twice due to their contract. 80 different combinations I think.

OK!! so you say STFU and I'm supposed to do it. Go believe that it doesn't help. Also, I know LSU is a powerhouse, but it doesn't mean that we shouldn't use every resource we have for recruiting.

Maybe we should put roman candles on our helmets while we play so the recruits who are attracted to flashing lights will want to play with us. We already have the fashion conscious kids sewed up with the new unis.

It wont matter now that recruits see that even if they come to LSU, they cant beat Bama or Florida because the SEC is more rigged that the WWF. They will just sign with Bama or Florida where they are pretty much a auto bid for the SECCG.

All I'm saying is just say you like the new unis without making up crap like they help in recruiting.
I can respect anyone that says they look nice for a change. There's no reason to make it sound like they are some super secret tool we are using to get recruits.

Orrrrrrr.....it could be the media coverage that will occur with the promotion will draw a kid to take a closer look at LSU...not BECAUSE of the uniform, but because of the COVERAGE of the uniform...who knows?
OF course I guess media coverage is a bad thing as well.

I love our uniforms - whites and purples. I like the occasional change. It's classy - kind of video gamish.....I do wish we'd break out a gold(yellow) jersey with a purple helmet sometime though. that would be cool
