scandal with SEC officials? It would be horrible. In fact, it would humiliate our league and maybe even break it apart. Why the hell would we desire someone like that? It sounds like half of you are hoping that something comes of this because of one horrible call in one game. Yes, if something shady is going on, it should be dealt with. but there's no reason why we should hope, or even be excited to find something going on.

We already have to argue that we're not dumbass rednecks, so it wouldn't be too fun arguing that we weren't cheaters.

Hopefully these allegations will be put to rest and/or found to be false.

God bless the SEC.

On another point, we did win a national championship a couple of years ago. Do you desire an asterisk next to that title? I don't.

If this shite really IS going on then it needs to be dealt with.

It's funny how we weren't complaining when the UGA call went our way. But now that we're on the other end, all hell breaks loose.

I have to admit that it wouldn't surprise me in this state. Our judges and lawyers are the most dishonest people in the entire state and they all have connections to Alabama and Auburn. Half of the elected officials in Birmingham are on their way to prison. It would be par for the course if we found out the SEC office was corrupt.

The UGA situation and the situation in Alabama last weekend weren't even in the same universe of being close.

There are several fundamental differences with the Ga. game. Most importantly, there was no instant replay used, it was a reaction call. No one had time to study AJ Green's actions and decide if it warranted a penalty. All Georgia had to do to nullify the effect was to reasonably cover the kick-off, they didn't. LSU scored quickly and was assessed the same penalty, however they covered the kick-off and left more time on the clock than they took to score for Georgia.

It was a dumb call, but to use replay and still screw it up? Real bad.

No it would be a bad thing...

But it wouldn't be as bad as it would be if it were happening and it wasn't uncovered.

If it is happening, someone needs to get their asses kicked... HARD!

As long as individual schools aren't involved I think it'd be great if something not on the up and up came out.

How would you Ole Miss fans feel if you had been robbed of a chance to win a game? NOT robbed of a loss but of a CHANCE to score? You'd be pissed and you know it.

If this happened to the Big 12 I wouldn't think less of Oklahoma or Texas or whoever as long as it wasn't THEM involved.

Nah, You're right. Even IF something is there, we should ignore it and just be slaves to the machine, do as we're told, and enjoy whatever ranking the SEC chooses to give us that season.

Are you that fricking stupid?

If they're going to frick us, then frick them. If they're crooked, they need exposing.

You're obviously a blue pill kinda guy

I hope that if fundamental changes are not made in the structure of the SEC, to negate the overt influence of the Alabama schools, the SEC goes the way of the SWC. Playing in the SEC from Alabama is like playing with the wind at your back.

But to answer your question, a few years ago anyone who suggested the NBA had illegal officiating was a nut. If you can admit that insider trading takes place on Wall St., you can see how easy it is to corrupt $500 a game officials. There are millions at stake, these guys make pennies. As we have seen in the past, there are schools in the SEC who do not allow rules and money to become an obstacle to success. We all know who those schools are, it is part of their culture.

i think it's funny that the sec is trying to force one of their own into the championship game.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the sec team that made it gets it's arse kicked by texas???

thus, the sec dominance will take a hit. Next year a one loss team from another conference might get the nod.

I'm not saying that if something is wrong, we should turn our heads. That NOT what I meant.

I just don't understand some people DESIRE to have something turn up. I honestly hope that something doesn't come of this. I hope it's all on the up and up.

The SEC is the most proud conference in the country. It has the best fans and the most culture. I truly love this conference and experience. So why not? God bless the SEC.

Its tantamount to "not uncovering" a huge corporate stock price scandal. Its going to be bad at first, but in the long run, it would benefit everyone (except Bama of course lol).

the same kind of thing happened 3 or 4 years back with the Italian soccer league. That league was hands down the best in the world before the scandal but now it is still struggling to recover.

Imagine how badly it would hurt our recruiting if a scandal was uncovered in the SEC

Exactly. Plus, I couldn't even imagine the shite I'd take up here in OK.

Plus, whenever you think of Italian soccer, most think of cheaters like Juve. I don't wish that upon teh SEC.
