With JJ at QB, LSU went 3-and-out in 4 of 6 series (67%)

lest we forget that the 103rd ranked offense was trailing Bama when he went down. And the 5th series would have been a 3-and-out, had TTs man not fallen down and allowed the 41 yd gain.
We realistically have a piss poor offensive scheme, no matter who is in at QB.
quote:
1-10-LSU20 Jordan Jefferson passed to Terrance Toliver for 41 yards.
1-10-AL39 Charles Scott rushed for 4 yards.
2-11-AL40 Russell Shepard lost 7 yards.
3-18-AL47 Jordan Jefferson passed incomplete to Brandon LaFell.
4-18-AL47 Josh Jasper punted for 46 yards.

Yes I really dont get what people are pissed at Lee about. We ran on 3rd and 2 and didn't get it. Hitt got destroyed on another play and didnt give him a chance. Neither QB is great both are ok. Our run game did seem to get a jolt for whatever reason once he came in.
JJ got a bad spot on the very first drive of the game btw.
We need more Shep. If he is not at least part time QB next year I will start a playshep.com or fireles.com site

With Lee in our RBs ran for 48 yards in that one series. Prior to that they only had 28 yards combined, over three quarters.

Bama's defense is more to blame for that stat than Jefferson is. Jefferson is our best qb.

Then its going to be an agonizing three years with Crowtons system

you posted this same shite yesterday and it was wrong then too.
Rewatch the TT play. He may not have gotten 40 yards, but he would have gotten the first down. It was a back shoulder slant. His defender fell down when he went to pursue. Not at the initial catch. TT had the first down no doubt. And we got hosed on the spot in the first series. Do you think maybe, just maybe, it had something to do with the fact that we were playing one of the top 5 defenses in the country? and if i remember correctly, they said Bama hadn't allowed a touchdown in the first half to any SEC opponent.... Get your panties out of twist. We played a good game yesterday

No matter what you see out there, you're just going to continue to insist that Lee gives LSU their best chance to win, arent' you?

Yet in their last game vs Tenn with Crompton as QB, out of 11 series Bama held them to only three 3-and-outs. Only 1 was in the 1st half.
Tn vs Bama 1 of 5; 1st half 3-and-outs
LSU vs Bama 4 of 6; 1st half 3-and-outs
And dont forget vs UF, we never crossed midfield in the entire 2nd half. Sorry, but our offensive scheme sucks. Regardless of the QB.

no, I'm not. Heres my quote:

But when its obvious your #1 isnt getting the job done (103rd ranking vs weak teams) you have to get reps for the #2. LSU didnt, and we paid for it.

I agree. Poor officiating only poured salt on the open wound. Bottom line is we have a piss poor offense and a mediocre defense.

because I think Crowtons system doesnt work with this group of athletes.
Was I related to Mallory or Peveto when I saw the same thing last year? Confusion, players out of position, lack of effort, etc. All that ssemed to improve when we went with a different scheme this year, n'est pas?

I agree. It is time for an offensive scheme change to better suite our personnel and simplify. LESS is MORE. Paralysis by ANALYSIS comes to mind watching the keystone cop substitution patterns and illegal procedures that are obviously due to the hesitation with side-line checking and lack of rhythm from the play calling and confusion. We miss blocks, timing is off, etc.
Look what happened when we changed our defensive scheme.

And Inya was the best looking shot putter on the East German's Track and Field team 20 years ago - so friggin what??
neither are anything to brag about.
I hear that Ilga wasn't that much uglier than Inya.

I don't think it's fair to malign the team using quite the strong language. The defense is playing very, very well, arguably well enough to win. They gave up one long TD drive and one big play TD against Bama. They have been more inconsistent than I would like, but against Bama and Florida, the two premier games on the schedule, the defense played about as well as we could expect.
The offense has shown flashes, and did show flashes against Bama (not so much against Florida). However, the inconsistency in the play of the offense, across the board, QB, WR, RB, OL, just every position group has been either mediocre, sloppy, or poorly coached through some or all of every game, even the easy ones.

Kinda hard to get the #2 in there when they can't blow out ULL.

Thats why we need a new offensive scheme. Our first 4 games were vs teams that probably will not go to bowls, and yet with some of the top recruiting classes in the nation, we couldn't get enough distance for us to gain valuable playing experience that was eventually required in the Bama game. And for those wondering:
Wash (3-6) bowl unlikely
Vandy (2-8) no bowl
ULL (5-4) no bowl last yr with similar record
Moo St (4-5) bowl unlikely
UGA (5-4) not yet bowl eligible
UF (9-0) bowl eligible
Aub (7-3) bowl eligible
Tulane (3-6) bowl unlikely
Bama (9-0) bowl eligible
La Tech (3-6) bowl unlikely
Miss (6-3) bowl eligible
Ark (5-4) not yet bowl eligible
