Julio Jones when covered by Peterson: 3 catches for 29 yards.
The 73 yard td was possible only when Peterson was not covering him.
The game is over, and we lost.
But IMHO, we would be celebrating right now if injuries- and assinine officiating- hadn't taken their toll.
Just my 2 cents.

I don't remember Julio having one catch on Peterson to be honest.
Before Peterson got hurt, Julio made some catches matched up with LB's in coverage.

Its hard to believe Peterson is just a sophomore. What an athlete!

Wonder why he was cramping so much? Played games in much worse heat w/o cramping.

Many folks have surmised that, given the inherent nervousness over a game of this magnitude, he might've not hydrated properly. Seems as valid an explanation as any other that I've heard.

He missed the first couple of days of practice this week with flulike symptoms. He was already low on fluids as a result.

That explains it then- last night, some rantards were already blaming Moffit for everything wrong...

PP is the best CB we've had since Webster. Shut down corners like him are very rare. Thank god he's ours for another year.

PP is a freaking gamer, much like LaRon Landry was...

Nope. Two of those were when PP was on him but they sent Ingram in motion to the outside forcing PP to switch to Ingram. They were both crossing routes over the middle with basically no one covering him.

Kid is ridiculously good and he will let you know about it.

Gotta love this quote:

"What's funny is Julio got real mad at one point in the game," McElroy said. "No. 7 [Peterson] was talking. He said, 'We're going to show him.'"

Agreed. I only question coaching on several plays.

Going for the blocked punt. Granted we blocked one against Tulame, but we were going to get the ball back.

Putting Taylor on Julio. I agree PP was out and Hawkins might not have been any better, but I would have had a corner on him.

Running the option to the short side of the field no less. I can only think of two times this worked. Jefferson had a big gain and Scott had a big gain. The other times it got stuffed.

Also, Shep dissappeared again in the second half and fourth quarter.

If Jefferson, Scott and Peterson don't go down, we win.

The best in LSU history IMHO.

A ten time NFL pro-bowler eventually.

Both of these were to the wide side - at least Scott's was for sure.

jULIO SHOWED PETERSON NOTHING. PETERSON WASN'T IN THE GAME WHEN THE 73 YARDER WAS CAUGHT. SHOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED BACK ANYHOW BECAUSE OF THE ILLEGAL BLOCK IN THE BACK ON BRANDON TAYLOR THAT DANIELSON ET AL REFERRED TO AS A "BAD ANGLE". PAR FOR THE COURSE FOR THE FARCE WE HAD TO ENDURE OUT OF THE ZEBRAS YESTERDAY.

Blame the officials all you want, but this is the explanation for the game.
