I have only seen 3 French films that I can remember, The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, The 400 Blows, & Mon oncle d'Amerique.

I enjoyed these and want to watch some more, so any suggestions?

Per my foreign film thread, with trailers:

La Haine (3 Kids in French Projects)
District B13 (high-octane French film)
Cache (French psychological thriller)
Ma Vie en Rose (Belgian Gender Identity Flick in French)

Here's another trailer for it:

La Haine

The actual movie is subtitled, I can't seem to find any trailers on Youtube that have subtitles, though.

Great movie, it launched the careers of two of the main actors.

Brotherhood of the Wolf and City of Lost Children are both very good suggestions. Anything Trouffout (sp?) is good too.

I just watched "Z" tonight, and damn that was a good movie. While it deals with political figures and corruption of Greece, it was a french language movie (although I think it was Algerian made)

I highly recommend it

I haven't seen enough French films either, but many people have mentioned Cache and that is a very good film.

Someone has also mentioned Jean-Pierre Melville's work. I am slowly working my way through his films and Le Samourai is great. It's a film noir with an incredible style and atmosphere.

However, Melville's film Army of Shadows (L'armee des Ombres) about the French underground resistance during German occupation is incredible. One of the best films I've seen in years and has become one of my favorite movies of all time. I haven't seen many French movies but if I had to recommend one, it would be this. A must see.
