Hello to all! Me and some friends are headed to Tuscaloosa for the game this weekend. We're all freshmen here at LSU. Is anyone gonna be up there tailgating? We don't have anywhere really to go, so if anyone's gonna be up there with an open tailgate that doesn't mind us maybe stopping by for a little while, let me know! Thanks

For road games, all Tiger tailgates are open. My favorite part of road trips is the fact that anytime you see another LSU fan, it's like you ran into a friend you've known for years. Its good to have an idea of where to tailgate before you go on the road, but if you don't, just look for the tailgates with a bunch of LSU fans and you'll fit right in.

Whatever you do, don't expect the same kind of hospitality from the Bama fans that you would expect as a visitor in BR. I tailgate with my fiance's family, and when I ran in to a friend in '07, they made it very awkward when I asked them if my buddy could grab a drink. Pretty embarrassing.

On the other hand, it's actually a good time if you find some Tigers, or know some Tiders (the former is preferred).

Tailgating is a problem unless you can unload your gear at the Quad and then find a place to park. LSU fans like to park and tailgate on the same turf. From what I can tell, that's a tough call in T-town. From what I've heard, you'll see LSU tents at Central High School and in a couple of grass lots the Boy Scouts own near the school..OR find a place to park and go to the Hound's Tooth like most of us.

Here's to hoping that you don't run into too many rude fans. (everybody has them)
It's funny how offering a beer or food will usually prevent that...

Re: the Quad... Note that tents larger than 10x10 require registration and generators are not allowed. (but free power is provided) See below for more info...
Be careful leaving your car unattended around the Quad. I have heard stories of people getting tickets very quickly. (from BOTH sides)

Parking on campus is pretty much impossible unless you are a donor with a pass. However, with a little driving just off of campus you can find a spot if you are early enough. Just follow basic parking rules, in including parking in the same direction as the traffic flow on that side of the street.

Here is a link for much more info...

Off of a battery? how long does that last you?

...just plug into the available power.

Deep cycle marine battery will last you all day. But mine is a gasoline inverter...technically not a generator.

If I can plug into power I will, if not it won't be hard to hide the little thing...

We were at the last Bama/LSU away game and had a great time - the fans treated us very nice -much better than the fans in Washington this year. We didn't tailgate- we just walked around and there was plently of people to offer us drinks, food, etc. We hung out at the HoundsTooth on Friday night - it was packed with Tiger Fans - I think there are always going to be so 'crappy" fans at any venue - but you just ignore them.
