LSU/Sugar Bowl Scenerio

Before you all flame....I WANT LSU IN THE NC GAME. That being said.....
I have Sugar Bowl tickets. Here is my question. If LSU wins out and loses to UF in the SECCG and Bama loses only to LSU, does the Suger Bowl pick LSU or Bama.
My guess is they pick a one loss Bama over a two loss LSU. It appears Bama will have to lose another game besides LSU for me to see LSU in New Orleans.
Thoughts?

I would shocked if they didn't pick Bama...

I thought it was contractual that the loser of the SEC championship game went to the Sugar ?

The other way is if LSU wins out and somehow does not make into the title game. If Florida or Alabama lose to someone else besides LSU our resume will not be as strong.

No doubt that Bama would go. Will be higher ranked than LSU if Bama has only one loss. Generally, the loser of the SECCG does not get a BCS bowl bid. Last year was the exception since Bama had only one loss and was still the 2nd highest ranked SEC team at bowl selection time.
Moreover, from a purely economic point view, I would think the Sugar Bowl would prefer the higher revenue that Bama would likely produce since there would be more out-of-towners spending money.

Given the difference in economic impact on New Orleans, they might even pick a 2 loss Alabama first.

Do you buy the "LSU to New Orleans is bad for the local economy" theory? I am unsure. You get a lot of people spending money that do not go to the game when LSU is in town.

Where do people keep getting this from? There si no trend for it.

Don't know about that, but the SECCG loser won't fall to the Chicken Bowl after what happened to the Tigahs in 2005.
SECCG loser = Bammer or UF, Sugar Bowl if 1st loss
SECCG loser = LSU, Cap 1 or Cotton Bowl w/2 losses

The loser of the SEC championship game usually gets screwed! BCS would take a one loss Bama with its golden boy coach for ratings and travel.

LSU's destiny would depend on what happens to UF
if they win out and end up in the nat'l title game, it is likely the BCS would take the higher ranked team between LSU and Alabama...and a 1 loss bama would be ranked higher

I highly doubt that. With all the local fans, people just have to go 10 minutes down the road to partake in the game experience.
I have no evidence, but I think the LSU fans spend more then the fans of a traveling team.

Here's another scenerio....
LSU loses to Bama and finishes 10-2.
Bama loses to Auburn and Florida in the SECCG and finishes 11-2.
Who does Suger Bowl pick (Unless Florida crushes Bama, I don't think the Tigers rate ahead of Bama)? I think the Gumps.
Sadly, my chances of seeing LSU in New Orleans are slim.

IF you've noticed there is no trend, then why ask if it's contractual?

the BCS would take a 1 loss Tennessee team, a 1 loss Arkansas team or a 1 loss Ole Miss team over a 2 loss LSU team
what game in the BCS would be determined what game they went to, but not the fact that they got in the BCS

theyd pick bama
the true question imo is if LSU beats bama, and loses to ole miss, and bama loses to UF in the SECCG

Winner goes...unless they are selected to play in the BCSNCG...then the sugar can choose anyone they wish to fill that slot.
