Too many to name. Marigny Brasserie, Wasabi, Adolfo's, Snug Harbor are just a few.

Though a little driving is involved, Mimi's in the Marigny has good food.

Snug Harbor>>Port of Call
Adolfo's is BYO (frenchman)
Sukkho Thai (royal in the marigny triangle) is good and BYO
Coop's Place (Dec.) is right there for good gumbo/jamabalya
Cafe Envie (Dec./Barracks) is a good dessert/coffee place before drinks.

Yeh...its not good.

El Gato Negro is probably the best Mexican around these parts.

TA, you been to that Japanese place on Frenchman? Not the sushi restaurant, but the other bar place.

Yes...once.

Yaktori???

It is more of a Japanese bar...I would really like to go back at night...

Everything we had was pretty good...curry ramen noodles with beef or shrimp...I forget...and a couple of other apps (I guess it was not that memorable).

The food is different from every other Japanese place in town and more along the lines of a Japanese curry house....the beer selection was very very good....worth at least dropping in for a Japanese beer on tap and some weird Marginy atmosphere.

I've been tempted to try it, but every time I've gone by it either seems empty/closed or a completely odd looking sort of "scene".

I'm intrigued by it, though.

YA, I think that place is great. Get the rice balls with plum sauce. Also, its no smoking which is a plus for what is essentially a bar.
