So I have a theory that I have been thinking about. I theorize that there is something of a karmic relationship regarding the success of your favorite teams.

For example, my favorite teams are the Angels, Saints, LSU football, and LSU and CSF baseball.

Generally speaking when 1 or 2 teams are doing well, then there are others that perform poorly. I haven't really analyzed the data so to speak, but that is how I feel.

HAHA!!!

This theory came to me after I watched the SAINTS lose a heartbreaking game late in the season and then stayed at the bar drunk to hear the announcement that LSU was going to the SHIP!!

LSU and then all Washington teams for me who really haven't done shite except for making it to the playoffs. Weeeee. No real string of dominance from any of them except LSU. But I feel like the Caps are about to change that. As for the Wizards (they're cursed) and the Redskins are fricked until Snyder locks himself in the owner's box.

the reason I made this name was because I was so pissed off that we lost to Va Tech at Lane Stadium. It was my first time seeing LSU play in person.

Four years ago:

Astros - Really good
Lakers - Terrible
Packers - Terrible
LSU - Really good

Three years ago:

Astros - Decent
Lakers - Average
Packers - Average
LSU - Really good

Two years ago:

Astros - Not good
Lakers - Really good
Packers - Really good
LSU football - Champs

Last year:

Astros - Not good
Lakers - Champs
Packers - Bad
LSU football - Bad

2007 was the best year for me overall as a fan. Last year was rough overall, but the Lakers are probably slightly above Green Bay as my favorite pro sports team, and Kobe is my favorite professional athlete ever slightly above Brett, so I can't complain. For as long as I've been a fan, the Packers have been by far the most inconsistent team. There will be great years, mostly average years, and then terrible years.

Packers were my favorite team when I was really young. Still remember crying for like 3 hours when the 49ers won on the last second play to TO with 3 seconds left, right after they let Jerry Rice get away with an obvious fumble.

I left the Pack for a while when the Saints got good. Then I was really for the Packers to get to the Super Bowl in 2007. Now I don't really care for them since Brett is gone because he is my favorite player.

The Flames are really good right now, but that's after some years of being truly awful.

The O's have sucked for so long I'm happy with just being below average.

The Ravens swing violently from good to bad.

LSU has been awesome after being terrible 15 years ago.

Thank God for LSU baseball.

I'm a Browns and Indians fan. Therefore, I should be granted with a BCS Championship every year for Ohio State for the pain of being a Browns and Indians fan.

Well, you do have a point. What is it? No titles in Cleveland since 1954? Only Seattle has a more brutal sports history.

Anytime I start to feel sorry for myself for being a Reds/Bengals fan, I remember that there is a shithole further north in the state that has it even worse off.

Though I do believe growing up in Maryland from 1984-1996 was the worst time and place to be a sports fan:

-- The O’s go into the tank and have the 0-21 start in 1988. When they do finally get good in 1996, the Yankees rob us in the ALCS thanks to that friggin’ kid.
-- Len Bias and the subsequent Maryland basketball probation
-- The Colts move in 1984 and there is no NFL football until 1997
-- Maryland football goes from a regional power to one of the worst teams in the nation
-- The Bullets go through an era just as bad as the Clippers. Seriously.
-- The Caps routinely make the playoffs and are eliminated in the first round (even blowing a 3-1 series lead three different times). In 1993, they make the conference final, the first in franchise history. They are swept in 4 games. It is the highwater mark of any area team save the Redskins, who I hate because I was a Colts fan. Which makes their success painful.

Ahhh…. Memories.
