I went back and watched the Florida game again this weekend and I found a few interesting observations about Jefferson.

First, as many have already stated, he is simply afraid. He won't throw the ball down the field unless the receiver has no defender near him.

Second, his mobility does not bring as much to the offense as some think. If my math is correct, he only ran the ball seven times for 31 yards (not including sacks). And his inability to run the option actually hurts the offense.

Third, he is not very accurate. He missed on some relatively easy passes and several of his completions were high which didn't allow the receiver to be able to run after the catch.

Fourth, he has no pocket presence. He does not know how to step up in the pocket or when to run or throw the ball away.

Finally, he simply seems like he doesn't have confidence. I normally don't pay much attention to body language, but he doesn't seem to have the confidence and leadership abilities to lead the offense right now.

I know he's still young but I think it is time to see what Lee can do this year.

So is JJ getting the message that he can play like crap, and never be benched?

Is that really the message we want the coach of an elite college to send to one of his key players?

I cant stand Saban, but I noticed he sent a clear message to his QB this past weekend.
