As one of the leaders on the USA threads here, I endorse this. It would also keep the flamers away since there will be multiple soccer threads.

I don't think the World Cup board would fizzle out after the U.S. (inevitably) drops off.

The excitement around every post-group stage match is too frantic to be silent.

It would especially be cool if the board opened up several weeks before the WC. I think a lot of us soccer nerds could get into things like team previews, player profiles, speculation, various outlets of humor, etc.

the score did not accurately represent the game

and brazil should have had 1 more goal, that was an inaccurate call, the ball was inside the goal

Goals get disallowed all the time, we should have beaten El Salvador 3-1, but Dempsey got called for a foul on a pass. I'm not saying we will be a favorite, but we do have talent to make it to the knockout rounds prick.
