And to think we lost to the #1 team in the country by 10 points ........
And most want to fire to entire coaching staff
Imagine if we had lost to UAB, boy I could only imagine what kind of moron our fanbase would think we had - they would have demanded his head on a platter and burned down his house
oh wait....

But I would argue that those first three years validated the hire.
And I would argue that is what masked the hire. The talent and position of the program was in such a state than only a complete moron could not succeed with it. Granted, Miles succeeded very well. Not that the program is fully Miles, do you think we're going to see many more 11 win seasons?

Another person that takes no time to read the discussion. None.

I think most of your ideas are good. LSU is currently 5-1. Winning is winning. What expectations have not been met this year??- HOW they have won the games they have won?

I really don't know if we'll see more 11 win seasons. I remain hopeful.
But to say that inertia could win a national championship three years down the road is questionable at best. There is a limit to the amount of poor process that extraordinary results can mask.

I think 2006 was our best team in my lifetime. We started 2007 on fire for the first half of the season. We tried to give away a NC game appearance, but seriously backed into it.
It's completely feasible because it's what happened. Last year, this year and next year should be the tell tale signs for everyone.

This board is just a collection of people who are not happy people. I have friends that went to LSU and bashed even when Saban was there. They get together on this board and spiral their negativity into a giant purple and gold whorl pull where any positive light is quickly distinguished.
It's amazing how fans forget that college teams are a collection of kids and young adults.

You do not get to be a head coach at a school like LSU without learning several things about football and people along the way

Would everone complaining about Coach get off his arse. It seems the negative people against Coach were just waiting to jump on him like a pit bull and not let go.
I don't know what is going to happen. I see the problems. But for LSU stop in your tracks on this harping of how horrible he is as a coach.
Thanks to all that are able to keep a positive outlook. Geeeezzz try to calm down or just go back to the books and study.

I happen to be a very happy person in general and I believe this to be the best of times to be an LSU football fan or just an LSU fan.
I'm riding a wave of joy over our to recent football titles, the fact we are national champs in baseball, and our recent basketball success.
I like Coach Miles as a man and his tour of duty at LSU, to this point, speaks well of his ability. I mean, 47-12, a national title, and 4 bowl wins in 4 yrs has never been topped at LSU.
Others can do as they please, but I will cover the man's back any day of the freaking week after that he has given me to this point in time.

I spite of the wtf moments we've endured over the past two seasons they're more than overshadowed by the positive ones. I enjoy the fact we win most of our games. It wasn't always like that. Good luck coach and kick arse next weekend LSU!

I like what you said. But this quote is the prime example. Smoke Laval would still be coaching LSU baseball if it was up to the relax, let's hold hands and enjoy the declining program crowd. Thank goodness for the truly passionate LSU fans.

Passionate doesn't explain 1/3 of the posters on this board. I'm very passionate and proud of LSU, but I'm not going to let the disappointment of a few bad games...most of which we won allow me to through slams at others.

LSU got the shaft on the rankings...

Wasn't Smoke fired after failing to make the NCAA tournament? That would be akin to a losing season for LSU football. If that were to happen, I am pretty sure the coach would be in trouble.
