The biggest deficiency of the O-line is with the interplay between the QB and the tackles on pass plays, so that really wouldn't solve the main problem. I suppose I wouldn't necessarily be against it though, especially if LSU decided to run more "no huddle" drives, so that they could maybe come in for a drive in the middle of the game.

do they never see the field? I almost exploded when JJ got sacked in 4 seconds when Fla rushed 3.

Other than the vomit, didn't Blackwell play decent?

Once again, unless I see otherwise somehow, I trust the coaches to play the best players. But I trust Chavis and his side of the ball a lot more than Crowton and Coach Studwara along the OL. I see improvement in every area of the defense...DL...LB...S/CB. Along the OL, I see 0 improvement and actually Black seems to be playing worse. I thought it was amazing that LSU did not substitute along the OL the first 4 games. Is that an NCAA record?

Yeah, but again, center and guard play is not the main problem.

Hitt and JD the guards have not exactly gotten rave reviews, especially JD who replaced Herman Johnson. I haven't heard much about Hebert but it isn't just the tackles that are having problems.

Your Oline can only do so much...if you go four wide and drop 5-7 step drops to throw a 10 yard curl route obviously nothing is in sync with the offense. My high school defense can cover that by then...Imagine Florida

there shittiness on run downs is equal to the JJ/OT troubles on passing downs. TBob and the guards couldn't drive a pop warner d line off the ball.

I don't know, but it may be time for open tryouts...something has to be done somewhere. And it's killing me because I'm not sure what the exact problem is.

The OL is not doing it in run blocking either. BTW, some of the drops that Jefferson is taking and some of the movement by him is because there is no pocket to begin with. James Varney of the TP has pointed that out as have others. If the OL is not blocking the rest of the orientation of the players is meaningless.

I agree i dont see why faulk cant play guard his first year then move to tackle..Lowe can rotate with him..Maybe it should be a three horse race between Josh D. TBob and Lonergan at center.

if the problem is our OLine not gelling it might not be that the best players need to play but the players that work the best together.

Seriously, is C. Black playing through an injury we don't know about? He looks like a different player this year. You don't go from being a pre-season all american to arse garbage for no reason. WTF is up?

Looks to me like Ciron is heavier than he ever has been. The added weight is inhibiting his ability to pass block against speed rushers. He isn't as quick as he was in his first three years.

I always replay the games so I can watch the line play and I gotta say I'm baffled. C. Black and Lyle Hitt were both good enough as sophmores to win a national championship, with Joe Barksdale getting quite a few reps as a frosh. From what I can tell so far T-Bob is about on even keel with last years center play and JD, while not quite the run blocker that Herm was he has been adequate.

To my eyes the worst play has come from Black and Hitt, especially Hitt. Black has mostly been poor on pass blocking while Hitt has been bad at both. Barksdale has been getting beat some on pass rushes but his feet are better than Black's this year and he has been passable. I'm just not sure what the reasons are for the fall off in performance of Hitt and Black.
