They had to give Gainesville something.

frick pizza places. This is Louisiana, and we are halfway between the two greatest culinary destinations in America: New Orleans and Acadiana.

Enjoy your win, it's going to have to last you the rest of the season.

I think he was referring to the real gators in the campus lake. But I agree, how are 2 gators in a lake better than an 800lb tiger 300 ft. from Tiger Stadium?

I read the opening sentence of that article before I realized the writer has never been to Gainesville.
"Both Baton Rouge and Gainesville are situated in flat, swampy gator-filled locations, sometimes overlooked for nearby neighbors (New Orleans and Orlando)."
Not only is Gainesville not located in a flat Swampy location but Orlando is not Gainesvilles nearby nighbor. Tampa and Jacksonville are both much larger cities than Orlando and are much closer to Gainesville. Although Paines Prarie (just south of Gainesville) may be a bit of a marsh Gainesville and the surounding area are quite high and dry. Although compaired to most states Gainesville could be considered flat, compaired to most of Florida it is quite hilly. I saw no reason to read any further.

Baton Rouge isn't in a swamp either fwiw. And Orlando is only like an hour from Gainesville(I travel there a lot and thats a mark to say we're an hour away), almost same time as NOLA.

Outside of UF campus, Gainesville is a jortin shite hole. I've been to every state in the country (including the Dakotas) and to every continent besides Antarctica. When I say BR>Gainesville, I'm not saying it as someone who's never been anywhere, just pulling it out of my arse. UF campus is pretty nice though IMO.

Glad we won this and all but where in the hell did someone see an alligator in Baton Rouge??

South BR is built on a drained swamp.

Sure, but BR isn't swampy. That shite is south of red stick like in Houma or Morgan City.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I have relatives who live there and I used to visit every summer, so I know the place well. Outside of the university, there is absolutely nothing at all redeeming about Gainesville. It's hot, ugly, dirty, boring, and filled with an unusually high percentage of ugly women. I have a good buddy who is a UF alum, and even he can't find anything good to say about G-ville.

I've seen a small gator in one of the LSU lakes. There was a picture on the front page of the Advocate once too.

Gainesville Sucks for Golf Courses. Tried to play a quick round before heading to swamp last year. Ended up at the only option, which was a substandard public course. Typical recreation dept type golf course. Nothing like a Santa Maria, Baton Rouge.

Uhhhh fwiw. East of BR...swamp. West of BR...swamp. South of BR...swamp. FYI BR is in a swamp.
