The last time the Gators rolled into Tiger Stadium undefeated, ranked #1 and defending national champions

Oh, what a night

Over the years attendance of that game has grown to about 145,000, 37,094 were on the field, 3,475 were on the goalposts as they cam down....I unfortunately had to work.

We had 1 of two games to chose from. LSU vs UF or LSU vs Notre Dame. I chose the Irish. It worked out nice for me that year

I was at this game as a student and it was one of the best memories I have from Tiger Stadium. The student section was like a mosh pit the entire game, it was an unbelievable experience.

LSU was not undefeated in '97. I don't think they will be overlooked this year.

good....we've come a long way since those days.

Other teams may get overlooked now because of looking ahead TO LSU. i prefer it that way.

Its gonna be a heavy weight fight....Les do this!

I was also a student that year and in the mosh pit! I don't think we stopped yelling the entire game. I fondly remember doing "snow" angels on the field after the game. I hope the same spirit is recreated on Saturday night!

BTW - How fun is it to watch that game again, especially when Spurrier throws his visor down on the field?! Of course, on VHS.

I was there. An incredible game that is just behind beating Bear Bryant's last gumps in 1982 as favorite games outside of bowls.

In 1982 we lost to a shitty Miss. State the following week. We were 7-0-1 (tie to Tennessee) going into the game against Miss. State.

me and 2 friends were in the front row of the student section, against the purple wall. when we scored, looking back up into the entire student section was an awesome site. I can remember there being 4 rows deep of students on the field with about a minute left to play. we had to go or be trampled. I get goosebumps just typing this. It was easily my best memory from the stadium.

I was there, as a student - the student section was CRAZY that night. We rushed the field too, I still have no idea how I got over the chain link fence, I guess someone helped me - I just remember running down from the top of the student section and next thing I know I was at mid-field. I didn't think to take any turf but I still have my ticket stub.

Was in Florida at a condo that weekend...went to the liquor store before the game in my P&G and got ragged on by the staff. Went back after the game and got all the "good game" comments by the same staff, with their heads hanging down...nice.

I was a senior in M.E. and my girlfriend had surgery a day or two prior to game. I spent Friday night with her at her family's in Mandeville (or maybe it was Covington). Watched GameDay in their living room, with her on the couch. I recall Spurrier saying, outside of Tiger Stadium (likely tape from Friday walk-through) "Why is ESPN here? Isn't Michigan playing today?"

She saw me getting fired-up. But I was there to take care of her.

Then she said "sweetie, you should go to the game if you want to, my Mom will take care of me."

I think I bolted out of there like a lightning bolt!! Nothing against her, but I did NOT wanna miss that game!!!
