Two questions. How strict is it on Bourbon with bars/cops with underage drinking?

Also, will it be more fun to spend part of the day Saturday in New Orleans and then drive over to Baton Rouge or will it be more fun all day in Baton Rouge?

hit new orleans, if you are over 13, you should have no problem getting a few drinks

There are no drinking-age laws in NOLA.

Spend the night before in NOLA and come into BR early. Don't worry about food, there'll be plenty EVERYWHERE.

Yeah, you're going to have to get to campus pretty early.

They shut down campus and stopped letting cars in for the 2007 game, and this one may be even bigger. I probably wouldn't risk it.

you won't have time to party in both NO and BR on Saturday...without a parking pass you'll need to head over to campus pretty early or you'll have to park miles and miles away...

The words strict and Bourbon St. should never be used in the same sentence

Traffic and parking around LSU will be pretty insane Saturday so I wouldn't get there to late. Just for reference I think LSU-UF 2007 had around 140,000 people around campus before the game.

They won't stop you if you have liquor but most places card you to get it. If someone have a fake then everyone is golden.

How early should we leave New Orleans? I'm just worried about getting all the way to Baton Rouge and then us finding out no one we know could get a tailgate spot all day. I went in 07 and it was ridiculously packed and we couldn't find anyone.

I disagree... Here's an appropriate example...

"Mistress Morgana was very strict with me last night."

Ok good. One of us is 21 and one of us has a fake. Hopefully it works out.

As long as you don't look 12, and don't act like a jackass, you'll be good all day long.

Do Friday night in N.O., man up, and get your arse up early to be on campus in BR the next day. It'll be great on campus all day with Gameday here. Act cool, don't be a douche bag, take a little Tiger baiting, and let the fans take care of you.

I've never driven to BR from NOLA on a gameday so I'm mostly going by what the campus is like for any huge Saturday night game. If you want decent parking you'll have to leave NOLA before noon. If you want bad parking but maybe able to tailgate for a little bit, leave after 1pm. This would be what I'd do if I were in your place.

eta - but I always like to play it safe
