Will be staying around the quarter for 8 nights. First time back (other than a quick visit for the NC games) in about 13 years. The wife and I are looking for resturants that are nice but not $$. Anything around $125-175 for two. I like wines and her Cokes. Seafood(shrimp or crab not big fish eaters)and Steaks are on top of our list. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

go to chowhound.com and go to the New Orleans board. The people there live for these questions.

I've had good steak at Shula's on Canal and also at Dickie Brennan's on Iberville.
Also, good place to have some lunch is Coop's Place on Decatur and for a good burger go to Port of Call on Esplanade.

For steaks, you have to try La Bocca. This is a south American styled steak place with great value priced wine. Excellent odd cuts of meat.
Second for steaks is Dickie Brennas.
For seafood, you should try Rio Mar. Same owner as La Bocca.
Second would be GW Fins. He brings in stuff that other places in the city will not put in the effort to source.
Pelican Club is a good value restaurant.
Def. do brunch at Commanders on one of the Sundays.

Since others have mentioned steaks, I'll add some others to the list.
Cochon - great food. Mostly pork, some seafood.
Jacques-imo's - fun atmosphere, good food.
Rum House - good food (fried plantains are delisc) - Good drinks
All I mentioned are sub 100.00 for 2

La Boca for steak, especially in that price range.
