I think there was no way that should not have been an intentional grounding call on that play. Hell, he was not even looking upfield, and he just heaved it sideways with no particular reciever in mind, but no call! Would have been extra 2 points and the ball back, however, it would have changed the exciting finish some I guess. I will admit, I am very surprised we won the game yesterday. We failed so miserably on scoring opportunities in the first half, which just was so damn frustrating. But I damn sure will take the win no matter what! We did try to open offense up more it seemed, however, Russell Sheppard again sees no time or touches really in the 2nd half, which is still baffling. However, hopefully we can build some serious momentum from this good road win, and turn things around on offense, and make this season very exciting and possibly something great!

Holy hell, it wasn't intentional grounding. He wasn't down. He DID see the receiver, and threw the ball in his vicinity.

I don't think grounding cares if the QB is looking

there was a receiver nearby and he was outside the tackle box and it got (barely) past the line of scrimmage

no grounding

he was outta the tackle box, pass went beyond the LOS, and there was a guy in the vicinity.

Outside of the tackle, the rule is you can throw it anywhere. The announcers agreed with you until they showed the replay in great detail, it was obvious he was outside the tackle, and even if he came back in, it was still not intentional grounding.

That's the rule. The refs got it right.

The rules state the qb can be outside the tackle box, which he was, and the ball has to cross the line of scrimmage, which it did. There does not have to be a receiver anywhere around. He doesn't have to look for a receiver. I thought it was grounding at first to, until I saw the replay.

If the Georgia fans think the AJ Green penalty robbed them, they must have missed the no safety call a few minutes earlier.

People, please read the rules. It was not grounding. And no, 7 out of 10 times that call is not made.

It was an ugly, incomplete pass.

Note to Alem: get there 1/2 second sooner.

I love the people who complain that he wasn't looking. First off, he was looking. Second off, it's completely irrelevant whether he was looking or not because he got the ball near a receiver. Do you people even remotely grasp the rules of football?

STFU. Alem played his arse off.

It was a home town call, nothing more.

They had the same opportunity we did when the same, just-as-bull-shite celebration penalty was called on Scott.
