If you're expecting LSU to roll this weekend, think again...

Most of you know I'm one of the top 10 "LSU homers" on the board. I try to keep an even keel when it comes to LSU and always try to remain positive. As I always say, things are never as bad as they seem and never as good as they may seem (this is true in life as well, FWIW). That said, my brain tells me that Georgia is a talented football team equal in talent to LSU, despite their inconsistencies this season. Georgia is a tough place to get a win. Winning on the road against a talented Georgia team is no easy task, and winning in those same circumstances with a 19-year-old inexperienced QB and a struggling offensive line and running attack will be next to impossible. My logic leads me to believe that I don't think we will be able to get it done this weekend, and LSU loses 27-20, although I think we will play our best football of the year this Saturday in the loss, ironically enough.
Since 2002, Georgia has only lost 6 games by 12 or more points (and ONLY ONE of those games was in Athens)...
I hope that I am wrong. I truly do. I soooo want to be wrong here! I'll be in Athens rooting on the Tigers no matter what, and I actually feel a loss could actually finally piss this team off. The roof will not cave in if we lose, because I can definitely envision us losing this Saturday and turning around and beating Florida in Tiger Stadium next Saturday.
If we can get out of these next two games 1-1, I will be thrilled! No matter what, Saturday is going to be a lot of fun. Nothing like going on the road to a place like Georgia in a marquee SEC game.

Georgia's Defense sucks, and their QB is Joe Cox. I'm not that worried. I do have the Absolout for when I start to though

You going to the game JPL?...People are dumb if they expect LSU to win big IMO

Yeah, leaving Friday AM... we're staying with friends in Atlanta Friday night and heading over to athens Saturday morning.
I definitely agree. We will not "blow out" Georgia in Athens. It simply will not happen. I think we will play our best football of the year, but still lose a close game. It's road SEC football ... you can play near perfect and still lose by a FG.
All that said, I truly hope we get it done, I just think it's going to be tough. My brain tells me Georgia wins. My heart tells me LSU wins. I'm gonna go with my brain for now, that way I won't be so let down when we do lose ... and of course if we win, I'll be ecstatic, lol!

this game goes down to the wire.. I predicted 30-24 LSU in the official prediction thread ..
having to intercept late to seal the win

Even though im referred to as a Negatiger I think we win this game and I dont say that much...I feel really good this week and I think The coaches and players are tired of hearing about how overrated they are and lucky to be 4-0, etc...
Anyways you will have a fricking blast

Joe Cox is actually a very good quarterback. He is completing 70% of his passes against SEC competition.

Ummm...Joe Cox aint playin that bad...Now their defense is a diff. story

Yeah, we had a good time when we went there back in 2004 ... other than the game, that is. We got the shite beat out of us, lol.
I'm looking forward to it ... I actually like the road games better than the home games, FWIW. I love Tiger Stadium, but there's a lot of "tasks" to do at home with the tailgate,j socializing, cleanup, cooking, etc, etc. On the road, you just go, get drunk and watch some football and don't have to worry about all that other stuff.

I think the game is a toss up. Hopefully LSU wins the toss.

Would you take the ball or defer?
IMO, I'd defer. But the flip side is it certainly would be awesome if we took the ball and drove it 80 yards for a 7-0 lead.

Holy shite man I agree 110% with everything you just said"...it can get very tiresome having to conduct a tailgate by yourself...

I bet UGA fans are more worried than LSU negatigers. They dont look too good either. LSU defense shows up tomorrow. LSU 24 - 20

i like the way we match up with georgia. the best part of their team is the receivers. the only true weakness i have seen in the defensive backfield from a coverage standpoint is chad jones getting out of position. both corners are very good man cover corners. aj green will get his yards inevitably, but if we can cut down his vertical presence, it will allow us to put more pressure on cox and georgia's running game. ultimately we have to play smarter football and make cox beat us.
i think we find a way to win.

I would like to know who exactly is expecting LSU to roll.......... And then i would tell them to get their head checked. I'll be happy to win by 1 point. UGA is a good team and if we beat them then hopefully our stress levels around here will go down a little.

we will never be in danger of losing this game. it all comes together.

Florida Atlantic QB had 68% against SC. Missouri St QB had 65% against Arkansas. Cox went 70% against SC and 69% against Arkansas. Rice QB throw for 58% against Oregon St to Cox's 50%. Not sure that 70% means a whole lot this early on.

Luckily, they don't play Florida in Athens.

From here on out, I don't care about winning "pretty." I'll take a 3-2 win in every SEC game from now til the end of the season.

I put 200 on the Dawgs. Sorry, I know a sucker bet when I see it. If by some miracle we win, I'll come back and beg forgiveness.
