Is our overall fanbase as spoiled and deluded as....

this board has become? Seriously, people on this board think we are supposed to roll everyone we play. Each week brings another Les Miles comparison to some coach that is "better" at using talent. It was Pete Carroll before his team lost to Washington (the team we beat). It was Houston Nutt before they lost to freaking S. Carolina. No coach is perfect and the flaws always show eventually. Les Miles has the best overall record for the time he has been here and has the same number of National Championships as the mighty Nick Saban. It seems like "fans" could do a favor to the school they claim to support and actually be SUPPORTIVE. This delusional bullshite is exactly what has taken down many schools and makes coaches and players not want to come there. The term "Gump" was coined on this board to make fun of delusional Alabama fans. It would seem that a new term should be used to describe the ever growing delusion that is running rampant on this board.

I couldn't agree with you more. I wish these "fans" would decide to criticize and let everyone know how much we "suck" after a LOSS. I can't believe all the

I agree but the constant pounding of the negative drum does nothing good for recruiting or future coaching hires. This is the most visited LSU board and is regularly frequented by potential recruits. It's OK to criticize but the stupidity has hit a new level. I don't see why any recruit would want to come here when all of these supposed "insiders" are constantly bad mouthing the coaching staff.

That's what has really changed. I understand bitching after a loss but it's gotten to where the relentless bitching is happening after just about every win.

Not every win, just when you get dominated in every stastical category and manage to get lucky and win against an inferior opp.

What is unrealistic about a fan base that expects that it's team, who continues to get top 10 recruiting classes and hasn't had a new HC come on board in 5 years, to play up to a certain competative level? I'm not asking to blow teams out by 50 points, but impose your will on that inferior team! Dominate them! I haven't seen that yet this season. Not once.

You, me, and everyone else that's been here a while know damn well, even if LSU DOES roll UGA somehow, people will be doing the same thing they're doing now. That's the nature of this board.
What's sad is if LSU does happen to beat UGA by , say 10, (you know, 3 scores

Yes, fans wanting better play out of their team has taken down schools....
We are playing mediocre football. D-Line = bad. LB's = no awareness, CB = except peterson, plays out of position, O-Line = horrible, RB's = lackluster (running game is nonexistent), QB = average, would be better if had a line. I don't really see one bright spot on the team, just a few bright players. This team still hasn't come together. Don't be surprised if the fans want more than mediocre play. We played shitty agains UW (they lost to stanford this week BTW). Bad against Vandy, disgusting against UL (how do u not get pressure or defend against pressure from UL), and horrible vs. Miss State. We are playing progressively worse, we just benefit from a weak starting schedule.
Being positive is great when you are teaching 3rd graders, but being realistic is seeing that despite our 4-0 record, and our #4 ranking, we are hardly a top 10 team. Being negative means that we expect more from a team with the new "defensive mastermind" coach, and a #1 recruiting class. We expect more than this stat "rushed for 31 yards on 30 tries against the 88th-"best" rushing defense in the country."
We expect more than being ranked 9th in the SEC in total defense, and 49th overall (that was last week, we slip down further after last game).

Ok look, all of us who are upset are NOT mad about winning. We are ALL happy with the 4 wins that we have in as many weeks. However, we are dissatisfied because of the WAY the team has played because this is the weakest part of our schedule and if the team doesn't improve, we could more than like lose 5-6 games again. I don't know about you but last year was horrible. Were you jumping for joy when we were having 50 points scored on us? No. Were you happy with bad QB play? I hope not. Were you happy with the non-existent improvement last year? Again, I really hope not. This team is showing the same signs early on by NOT improving every week. Ok let me rephrase that, this OFFENSE is not showing signs of improvement. The defense is showing improvement week to week. Granted it's not dramatic but at least it's there.
And thanks to BugAC for mentioning our statistical rankings. Our offense is dismal!! Do you realize that Tulane, Army, and ULL all have more productive offenses than LSU does?? How in the world is that acceptable to you??? TULANE???
Don't kid yourself by saying "hey a wins a win" because THAT is delusional. I am not satisfied with this because its not like we're mediocre, we are just plain BAD on offense. We rank 105th, yes 105th!! I don't want to lose 5 games every year. I don't want to be the Clemson of the SEC. They are a joke and disappoint year in and year out. Do you want LSU to be the butt of every joke about the SEC? I sure don't.

The primary problem the "positigers" have is that they're so results oriented. It's the attitude of "Hey, we're 4-0/Les has a multitude of wins, so everything's great." Not the case. Our football program's product on the field, from 2000 to now, looks like a bell curve from the perspective of looking at the finished product on the field (a combination of coaching, talent, and play).
Bottom line...this team wins despite coaching. Less has proven his greatest attribute is recruiting, and he is damn good. And he will continue to beat every door-mat in and out of the SEC because of his ability to recruit. But we will never achieve what we could with Miles at the helm because his teams lack discipline, among other problems with his coaching.
Discipline, or lack thereof, will be the difference between what we could be, and what we will be.
Cue the Miles Hagiographers with their GFY's, and "go root for 'Bama" comments.
