defense has improved

no where near what we used to be

We still suck on defense though

Offense has skill players at key positions that are not being utilized correctly. Our offensive line sucks

Offense was better last year.

Avg points per game for offense this year is less than 26. Last year pts. per game was right at 31.

Last year the problem was the defense.

Marcus Randall said today on the "Morning After Show" that until we develop a respected consistent passing game, that we will not be able to run the ball.

Defense is good, on offense we need better protection and a better running game

Yep. I will say this about the offense though. They executed much better yesterday. Well mostly Jefferson. It's on the coaches and their odd playcalling as far as I'm concerned.

in the sense they no longer look "lost" and out of position, yes they are improved

but our tackling is downright awful, and I still have yet to see how/where our linebackers play into any of our schemes - it's almost like they're an afterthought. We're not as aggressive as we're used to, but, I do realize that overall, we're not nearly as fast on D as we've been in the recent past. There's no explosion off the line, we dont send more than 5 people, there is hardly ever a safety blitz, and our run D as a whole gets a C- right now

oh, and Peterson is fricking sick out there

Si senor. Two games of 80+ plays they are on the field and even in the late stages they were STILL in position to make plays. They have improved each game IMO.

I think both sides of the ball have improved quite a bit, but at the same time both still have a long way to go....as painful as it is to watch, I am glad that we are trying to put the downfield passing game together....without it, we are done for the year...

the goal line stands over the past two games do tell me that we are dominant when we want to be...we still have to close down the 10-15 yard passes over the middle that burn us on most 3rd downs....

I agree, overall there is improvement. Is it enough? I think so for the Georgia game and hopefully we morph for the Florida game.

Serious football question: I see a lot of our defenders going to tackle the opposing team and instead of grabbing them and wrapping them up, they just throw their body at them. This works sometimes but doesn't work others........what is the deal with that? Is that the proper was to tackle? Doesn't look like a safe way to stop an offense to me....?

If Arkansas could have tackled they could have actually beat bama.

We looked almost as bad.

Yeah, and he made TWO crucial blocks down the sideline too. If PP didn't give CJ the open lane down the sideline, LSU doesn't score on that punt return.

Patrick Peterson is freaking awesome.

Kelvin Sheppard is not. I hope Cutrera is okay.

DISAGREE JUST SMOKE AND MIRRORS BECAUSE OF THE TALENT LEVEL THEY HAVE FACED. but i give the O a break because the QB is still very young, and the O line is not very good. The QB would look much better if he had a running game of some kind.
