I was about to start this thread. I am curious to see how it does financially. Tucker is a delusional narcissist and thinks that this movie will become a classic like Old School and the Hangover. On the other hand, Gawker and all of those somewhat trendy sites absolutely detest Max and make the movie sound worse than it probably is.
They made it sound like it was going to go straight to DVD with no one ever seeing the film. I'll probably watch it once it's on DVD just to see which side was closer in their extremely biased prediction.

I think all the stories in the book were on his website. Most of them are freaking hysterical. I can't see it translating to film very well.

The film is just the Austin Road Trip Story, I believe.

I saw it on Saturday and it wasnt near as bad as the critics made it out to be. Granted, it was not the quality of the Hangover or Old School, it was still pretty damn funny. But I also think movies like College and American Pie: Beta House are funny too so take that for what its worth.

Loved the book so I'll probably hit the movie up one day after work. I'll take the bullet and post my findings.

If it is then it should be pretty damn funny. Possible spolier below.
I read the book and this story was awesome how he talks a stripper down from a $300 private dance in the champagne room to $55.

Yay
Not a huge one but it certainly kept me entertained. Definitely took a little patience for the characters to develop but the dialogue was very crisp and snapped off like a whip. It also had one of the most disgusting scenes I have ever witnessed in a movie before, so it had that going for it, which is nice.

I don't see it transferring over from book to movie very well. I picture it as some kind of Stifler from american pie wanna-be movie. It will make money though with the recent success of movies like The Hangover.

They filmed this in Shreveport so I'll see it.

Not quite. I think it opened around $400K.
I went to see it yesterday and thought it was entertaining FWIW.

I read the book and it was HI-LARIOUS.
But for some reason I have no desire whatsoever to see the movie.
I will however, see it due to the fact that it was filmed in ShreVegas.
ETA: DVD version
