According to ESPN:

"LSU 21, Mississippi State 16: This is a dangerous game for LSU. The Bulldogs are a confident bunch after winning at Vanderbilt last week, and senior running back Anthony Dixon is running like he means business. This is also Mississippi State’s first game back home after two straight games on the road, so the cowbells will be ringing with renewed vigor. The difference will be an LSU defense that hasn’t allowed a touchdown in the past six quarters and appears to be rounding into shape under first-year coordinator John Chavis."

Of late, LSU seems to match up well with teams that primarily rely on the running attack.

I look for a close game. I think MSU has upgraded their coaching staff and they are making better use of what talent they do have than in recent years.

LSU 24 - MSU 13

My guess

At this point LSU isn't good enough to overlook anybody in this conference. This is the SEC aka the strongest conference in the land. Every squad in the conference has some NFL talent. Matchups and gameplans count for a lot more now compared to the days when there were huge talent disparities from school to school.

It seems the LSU is playing to the level of their competition instead of the above and beyond we have grown accustomed to the last 8-9 years

Dangerous , but the right step to take to the next level. Hopefully gradually increase focus for this game.

so miss st. has a home game after two away games? Big deal, you could argue this is lsu first sec road game and will be ready to play. They have one player dixon. We have two very capable running backs a better d a better qb better wr's. I'm not saying we blow them out, but it should be similar to vandy.

Mississippi State hasn't been a dangerous game for us since 1994 (save for the 1999 game).
