Not so fast my friend.

Bama beat Va Tech and Florida International and North Texas.

We beat a decent U Dub won an SEC game and beat a ULala team with a lot of players from Louisiana who probably grew up wanting to play in Tiger Stadium and were really fired up. They seemed to get real conservative on Offense after JJ threw the interception.
Basically we've had 3 tests and passed. We're 3-0 and the schedule gets tougher every week. If we win the next 2 to quote Captain Barbossa" Are we to be two immortals locked in an epic battle until Judgment Day and trumpets sound?"

IMO, I think they are trying to have him keep his confidence and avoid the meltdown at QB like last year

This thread would not exist if JJ would have hit the three wide open recievers down field. QB play is our problem, not the coach.

Give the kid some time. Remember, it was only his 5th start. We will be back.

No. The last well coached players are in the NFL and not much help for us on Saturdays.

How would you defend the LSU Offense?

LSU can't run with authority until mop-up-duty at the end. LSU can't throw the ball long. The offense looks designed to fit the needs of the play caller and not the players.

Load the box, spy the QB, and guard the short passing game. We look too one dimensional right now and good teams will exploit this.

This short season could get really long quick.

I just do not see the intinsity that we are used to seeing in the team overall. They used to say that they wanted to dominate the other team but now they say they want to beat the other team. That does not mean the same to beat someone means they still have a chance but to dominate means they do not have a chance. Everyone keep saying they do not see the swagger in them I say I do not see the confedence in them that they used to have. I like to see the enthusiasm after a good play in succession with other good plays but after one play out of 5 or 6. They have to get back to dominating and when they do that we will see a different team than what we are seeing now. I am still behind them but I want to see their best because I feel that they are better than what they are showing. There was a time when these three teams would have been beaten by an average of 40-3 with either team not getting more than 200 yards at most with us having at least 450 yrds of offense. Even though they are slowly getting there in spots they still have a long way to go before they have a chance against Georgia in two weeks. With the talent we have out there there is no way that those three teams should have had a chance of being in the game let alone within 1 touchdown of beating us. I just hope they get their stuff together before next week are Miss. St. will show us something we do not want to see.

But I still say

To the original question, my answer is a reluctant and disappointed "no".

The team seems to lack a consistent identity and direction, esp on offense. The play calling appears completely random. Maybe this is as designed so opponents have to scheme multiple offenses, but it comes across as a tentative, indecisive approach which doesn't allow the players to settle into a rhythm.

Perhaps the playbook should be simplified and focus on execution before adding so many wrinkles.

In any case

you better believe it!

Their D-line will punish us virtually eliminating our already unproductive running attack

I'd say one test, one quiz, and one open book

well, when they rushed the qb they would actually get a sack. I remember quaterbacks not able to throw at all because there was constant pressure and they were getting hit all the time.

Opposing qb's are way to comfortable now. they are not rattled.

Anyone that thought we would do better than 9-3 was fooling themselves. And 9-3 would be a great year for us. We will have reached our potential with the talent and inexperience we have at so many positions.

Miles rarely has a pretty win, but you really can't argue with his record.

If he can keep this squad together mentally, get as many young guys playing time as possible, our next two years will be great.

Miles is just a good coach. He's not great but not bad. Problem is that he has to compete against great coaches in the SEC. Nothing will change until the money stops comin in.

I believe, had we scored 2 touchdowns more in each of the games played, many of the fans who are being so negative about this year's team would be silenced. Remember each season a team's characteristics changes a little. New coaches, players, injuries, even the teams they play will vary in style of play.
Be honest, every team in the SEC has issues. This is the time to get behind LSU, not just when they are dominating others, but also when they are in a close dog fight.

I really don't like the Terrance Cody vs T-Bob Hebert match-up.

Little difference comparing T-B or Helms vs Cody, both are undersized at the center position, then you have undersized Hitt and Josh D who looks physically underdeveloped and where is the center's help going to come from against seasoned explosive defensive fronts? This line is worse than last year's, which wasn't anything to write home about, either. I have no idea where this team ends up, maybe 2 losses, maybe 5 losses, who the hell can tell by what one sees on the field.
