Louisiana Tech is becoming "Transfer U" the latest to transfer is former LSU Tiger Tim Molton from Destrehan, LA. Molton was a consensus 3-star wide receiver from Destrehan High School in the 2008 recruiting class. Molton and current LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson were a very tough tandem to deal with on the high school level and as a result LSU offered Molton to play wide receiver for the Tigers. After a redshirt year in 2008, Molton was catching the eye of head coach Les Miles and appeared to be in prime position to make a significant impact for the Tigers in 2009 until a knee injury early this summer appeared to sideline him for the entire 2009 season. Last week LSU Sports Information Disrector Michael Bonnette confirmed Molton had left LSU.

Louisiana Tech has issued an official statement regarding Tim Molton:

“The Louisiana Tech coaching staff has been in talks with Tim Molton but there is still a lot of paperwork to hurdle for him to get into school and on to the team.”

Molton did not register for classes at LSU for this fall. It appears if the "paperwork hurdle" can be cleared Louisiana Tech will have another talented receiver to add to its offensive arsenal for 2010.

Lennon Creer – RB Transfer from Tennessee
Ahmad Paige – WR Transfer from Tennessee
Tim Molton – WR Transfer from LSU

Good for him. He'll see much more meaningful playing time at LaTech then he would have at LSU for the rest of his career.

Thanks for the link, I wrote the article.

Looks like I need an editor, or pay more attention to my spell checker.

Heard the whole leg injury he got at LSU was devastating. He dropped out of school and was really down. Glad to see he's trying to pick himself up.

Molton must have very low standards. High School stadium, crappy facilities etc.

He was hurt and couldn't play this year anyway and he might have started for us next year.

I didn't know Creer went to Tech. Putting together a nice offense over there.
