Plus it appears that they don't have the respect for high paying members of TAF like our athletic department does. Those are some expensive parking spots.

They are known as ULL - "OOOH LA LA"

UL-Monroe is "OOH LA MON"

They play like Jamaican teams. Although my hat's eternally off to ULM for beating Bama. Sweet.

Actually, they are known as Louisiana by their fans and the local media.

The transformation is complete. From USL to "Louisiana"in a few short years.

We'll see how they do in this week's Bourbon Bowl.

Too bad Waterboy won't be there to help the MudDogs.

Ok, for a 20 mile radius around the school they are known as Louisiana but for the rest of us its ULL. Gotcha

Big story in the local news this week almost eclipsing that of the Cajun's victory over Kansas State--Now serving beer at football games! This just in: attendance at home games expected to jump over 50%. Lol.

Today's conversation with my ULL friend:

Me: Will USL score their first touchdown ever in Tiger Stadium on Saturday?

ULL Fan: At least 21.

Me: That's a lot of field goals.

ULL Fan: Our kickers good.

That game drew 20,512 fans, about a third more than their average attendance of 15,056.

My suggestion is sports information director for a mid-major football program.

You make about $30,000 annually. The travel includes 50 events a year by bus or plane, covering 20,000 miles, and the cities are not New York or Los Angeles; think Moscow, Idaho, and Jonesboro, Ark. You work 12-hour days, designing, writing and editing press guides, releases, schedules, posters, to name a few of the duties.

And the worst thing is small schools have no money, not even for office supplies, so SIDs are forced to take the pens and paper from hotel rooms.

University of Louisiana-Lafayette sports information director

I can see we are going to have a good time this week.

ETA: I've never seen that Pepper mascot. That thing is hideous.
