Take them out of the playbook, please. I realize this was supposedly Crowton's specialty with the Bears but we must have been 0 for 45 on successful blocks by the other WRs on these plays last night.

The WR's must simply learn to hold their blocks.

It's too inviting of a play when the opponent gives our wide receivers 10-15 yard cushions.

If we can't execute that play then it will be much harder to throw the ball down field into heavy zone.

I didnt like the screens last night where the receivers are moving toward the sideline...I miss the bubble screens where the receivers come back toward the middle of the field.

It didn't work in one game.. so let's take it out of the playbook completely?

a bubble screen is a screen where hte WR "bubbles" toward the sideline. A screen toward the middle of the field is called a solid if it is off a run fake. A jail break if the line pass sets and releases

LaFell's receiving yards per catch was terrible because of several screens gone bad to him.

This. At least put Randle (who looked like he was holding his blocks pretty good) and either RJ or Chris Mitchell out there to block ... then put TT to the opposite side of the field.

LINK

Same theory behind the play.. get the WR with one DB to beat for a chunk of yardage.

Why LaFell ever on a WR screen?

1st: LSU has much more speedy, shifty, dangerous runners after the catch on their roster than LaFell

and

2nd: LaFell would be needed as a WR blocking.

the fact that you can't read saddens me also. it clearly wasn't a screen but the concept is the exact freaking same. it gets the WR in space with one man to beat.

I actually edited the 'one' in.. it was originally with DB to beat. I changed it to 'with one DB to beat'.

Lafell is Percy Harvin now apparently. He runs the option, gets screens, reverses etc. I guess they thought he was mad that TT got 2 TDs in the first game and needed to appease him.
