Pretty cool stuff!!
Anybody ever do a location pilgrimage for one of their favorite movies? When I was living in San Antonio I took a trip to check out the gas station where the original "Texas Chain Saw Massacre" was filmed. It was pretty neat.

that is pretty cool. I've always wanted to do shite like that but I guess I wouldn't even know where to begin.
I did however shoot a few baskets on the very court where they filmed White Men Can't Jump. That's about as close as I've ever come to doing this.

Been to Astoria, OR a couple times. Was actually at Ecola St Park last summer. Didn't find One Eyed Willie's treasure.

We used to party and hang out in the mansion where the premiere episode of In The Heat of The Night was filmed. It belonged to the family of some friends and was not lived in for many years.
That's the only one I can think off right offhand.

Our lake house isn't far from Covington, GA where Heat of the Night filming moved after that first season. A lot of the places used in filming were right off the square (the city library was City Hall/police station, etc.) but my dad and I used to go looking for some of the old factories and things they would use.
The Dog and Suds that gets robbed in My Cousin Vinny is about a mile from our lakehouse at the intersection of GA Highways 16 and 221.

When I first moved to Austin, my wife and I drove around the city checking out "Dazed and Confused" locations. Lots of fun.
Great Post!

the thing i love most about this is that if i had to choose one movie to do this too, i think i would choose the goonies. greatness.

after 9/11, i went with a group to NY and to a bunch of fire stations to show the love to the firemen there. Got to see a lot of crazy stuff (stations that lost 90% of their men, etc.).
But, also got to go to the station where they filmed Ghostbusters. They still use ghostbusters as their mascot/name or whatever. Even got a shirt.
That was pretty cool.

When we went to Seattle last weekend, we spent Sunday driving around the Olympic Peninsula and Forks, WA and La Push. Turns out, hardly any of the film Twilight was shot in Forks.

Cool...
I would like to visit Luke's home on Tatooine, the subdivision from the Burbs (if it wasn't just a huge set), the gas station from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the places from The Goonies listed above, and any location from the Indiana Jones trilogy. For starters...
