The Line of Scrimmage is where games are won. In my opinion, both OL and DL need to step up their game

OL - B minus (Due to lack of consistent run game)
DL - B minus (Showed signs of brilliance especially DT, but DE's were weak last night)

The big guys will have to step up if we're going to play for anything significant this year.

You, sir, are very generous in your grading.

I think part of the OL's problems was just too many guys in the box. I believe as JJ learns a little more of what to do and when, Crowton just might have him throw the ball 70% of the time against a team like UW that thinks that stacking the box is a good idea.

Will keep a season long running tab on the "trenches" the key to any championship.

+ a lot, that unit played very poorly, and it was Miles, the O-line guru himself who said, that this crop of Olinemen was the best he has had yet.

We were unable to open holes consistantly and the defense couldn't put pressure without a lineback coming in. In their defense though Washington used a lot of quick passing making it harder to get to him.

that and Locker is very very mobile.

Tebow and Bama's qb are fairly mobile, but only one of those QB actually plays behind a good offensive line.

The meat of the SEC schedule has me concerned with our DE's and interior OL.

f for both. If there was anything worse than F they would get that. They got owned all night. Horrible effort and stupid plays all around from our line

Well this is a new OL, so it will take a bit of time. I thought the OL did Ok. Problem was Crowton called a very conservative game throughout. We never tried to go down the field at all. Wash. saw this and started stacking the box.

The interior DL seemed to do pretty good. Our DE's were non-existent. That must get better.

B- for the O line? What game did you watch? We couldn't run the ball consistently against University of Washington! The announcers on ESPN are paid to hype the game. They will compliment the players on both sides of the ball until it sounds like there are 22 Heisman candidates in the game. Don't believe it. At the end of the year we will NOT look back and think UW had a better D Line than any of our SEC opponents, minus Vandy (maybe).

For the D-Line I will be slightly more generous than O-Line (F), and give them a D minus. The total rushing yards was 157, bolstered by 50 by the QB. What gets me maddest, and maybe was irrelevant, was the last drive by UW. Being unable to stop them, and go out with the ball, was disappointing.

O Line C
D Line F - one of 3 worst D-Lines in the SEC.
Drink the Kool Aid if you like but we have poor talent on Defense. Too many recruited D Lineman have been mistakes and had to be moved to the O Line.

im kinda pissed that we rolled over on that last drive. IMO it says alot about our coaching if they are ok with not playing whistle to whistle

Nevis looked good. Fast and disruptive. Downs looked good. Woods OK. Would have liked to see a little of what Hicks could do. So interior D-line gets a B.

We desperately need another d-end to play at the other d-end position along with Alem. Levingston and Aghayere looked awefull. I wonder if Montgomery or Brockers are ready to play. D-ends get an F for not even trying to get containment. They bit on every inside fake and were no where in site in trying to get containment on Polk or Locker.
